The High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur (CG High Court) has released an advertisement (Adv. No. 01/II-14-1/2026 (DEO)) for recruitment to the post of Data Entry Operator under exam code HDEO26. The exam is conducted by Chhattisgarh Vyavsayik Pariksha Mandal (CGVYAPAM). This recruitment is subject to the final outcome of SLP (C) No. 19668/2022 of the Supreme Court of India. Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

You need working knowledge of Unix/Open Source Software/Windows NT, plus one of the following degrees:

  • At least a second class Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in Computer Science or a related subject; OR
  • A second class Bachelor's degree from any recognised university + PGDCA from a recognised university; OR
  • A second class Bachelor's degree from a recognised university + 'O' Level course from DOE (Department of Electronics)

Other Requirements

  • Knowledge of Hindi and English typing is required. Candidates who have passed a typewriting examination in Hindi and English from a recognised board will be given preference.
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of Operating Systems and Office application suites.
  • You must be a citizen of India.
  • SC/ST/OBC reservations apply only to Chhattisgarh bonafide residents. Candidates from other states who are SC/ST/OBC will be considered only against UR posts.
  • OBC candidates must not belong to the creamy layer.

Age Limit

  • Minimum age: 21 years
  • Maximum age: 30 years for General/non-CG residents (as on 01.01.2026)
  • Maximum age: 40 years for bonafide residents of Chhattisgarh (as on 01.01.2026)
  • SC/ST/OBC (CG residents): 5 years relaxation on upper age limit
  • Women (local CG residents): 10 years relaxation on upper age limit
  • Government servants (permanent or temporary): Additional 5 years relaxation
  • PwD (Divyang): Relaxation as per CG Government, GAD circular dated 27.09.2014
  • Maximum age including all relaxations combined must not exceed 45 years.

  • Pay Level: Level-6 of the Pay Matrix

Selection Process

Selection is done in two phases:

  1. Phase I — Written Test (Screening Only, 100 Marks): 100 MCQ questions, 2 hours, OMR-based. No negative marking.
    • Section I (60 Marks): Reasoning (15), Quantitative Aptitude (15), English (15), General Studies & GK (15)
    • Section II (40 Marks — Computer): Unix/Open Source/Windows NT, MS Windows, Ubuntu, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Access, LAN, Antivirus, Network, Internet
    Candidates shortlisted at a ratio of 1:15 (15 candidates per vacancy) are called for Phase II.
  2. Phase II — Skill Test / Typing Test (Merit, 50 Marks): Conducted on Ubuntu Linux using Libre Office with Unicode Font. Final merit list is based ONLY on Skill Test marks.
    • Hindi Typing: 250 words in 10 minutes — 25 marks
    • English Typing: 300 words in 10 minutes — 25 marks
    Negative marking: 1/4 mark deducted per mistake. Minimum qualifying marks: 10 out of 25 in each typing test.
  3. Document Verification: Done at the High Court of Chhattisgarh after merit list is received from CGVYAPAM.

Exam Pattern

The selection is done in two phases. The Phase I Written Test is only a screening exam and its marks are not counted in the final merit. Only Phase II Skill Test marks determine your final rank.

Phase I — Written Test (Screening)

100 MCQ questions for 100 marks in 2 hours. OMR-based. No negative marking.

  • Section I — General (60 Marks):

Candidates are shortlisted at a ratio of 1:15 (15 per vacancy, category-wise) for Phase II.

Maximum 50 marks. Conducted on Ubuntu Linux using Libre Office with Unicode Font.

  • Hindi Typing: 250 words in 10 minutes — 25 marks
  • English Typing: 300 words in 10 minutes — 25 marks

Negative marking: 1/4 mark deducted for each mistake. You must score at least 10 out of 25 in each typing test to qualify. Final merit list is prepared based solely on Skill Test marks.
