CAU Pasighat SRF and Lab Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

The College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agricultural University (Imphal), Pasighat has released a walk-in notice for project manpower under the DBT-funded project Development of High Quality Gundruk Through Selective Fermentation by Indigenous Probiotic Cultures of Arunachal Pradesh and its Safety Assessment. The posts are temporary, contractual and co-terminus with the project. Initial engagement is for one year, with extension based on performance and project need.

Who Can Apply?

For Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• Essential: Master degree in Post Harvest Technology, Food Science and Technology, Food Microbiology, Food Processing and Preservation, or Horticulture with specialization in Post Harvest Technology with 4 or 5 years Bachelor degree.
• Alternative route: If you have a 3-year Bachelor degree and 2-year Master degree, you need NET qualification or Ph.D in one of the listed disciplines.
• Desirable: Experience in fermented food product development and quality analysis of food products.

For Lab Assistant

• Essential: Bachelor degree in Science from a recognised university.
• Desirable: Experience in laboratory work and proficiency in MS Office, statistical software and data management.

Project focus: The DBT project is linked to high quality Gundruk development through selective fermentation using indigenous probiotic cultures from Arunachal Pradesh. This makes the SRF role suitable for food science, post-harvest and microbiology graduates who can handle product development, fermentation work and safety or quality assessment. The Lab Assistant role supports the same project through lab handling, records and data support.

Desirable skills matter: For SRF, the notice gives preference for fermented food product development and quality analysis experience. For Lab Assistant, the notice mentions laboratory work, MS Office, statistical software and data management. If you have certificates, project work, thesis work or experience letters in these areas, carry them with the application.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit mentioned in the notice is 35 years.

Salary

• Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 42,000 per month plus HRA as admissible under project norms.

• The posts are project-based, so the salary continues only as per project rules and engagement period.

Engagement conditions: The posts do not give any claim for regular appointment or absorption in CAU. The competent authority can cancel or postpone the interview and can increase or decrease the number of posts without giving a reason. Canvassing in any form can lead to disqualification.

Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)

Selection will be based on your performance in the interview. There is no written exam mentioned in the notice.

1. Reporting and Application Submission: Reach the venue on 10 July 2026 at 9:00 AM. Applications will be accepted only between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
2. Document Verification: Bring the filled proforma, self-attested photocopies and original certificates for checking.
