BVFCL is hiring 38 Apprentices across Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Trade disciplines at its Namrup plant in Assam. If you are a recent Engineering Graduate, Diploma holder, ITI pass-out or B.Sc graduate, you can apply through the government NATS or Apprenticeship India portal. The last date to apply is 31 July 2026. You should be between 18 and 24 years old, and the training period lasts 12 months.

Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) is a Schedule 'B' Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Department of Fertilizers, Government of India, located in Namrup, Assam. It is the only urea manufacturing company in North East India. BVFCL has released Advertisement No. BVFCL/Pers/Apprentice/316 for engaging 38 Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. The seats cover Graduate Engineer Apprentices, Diploma (Technician) Apprentices, and Trade Apprentices across disciplines like Chemical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Fire & Safety and more. There is no written exam — selection is based purely on merit and a personal interview. This is a great opportunity for freshers to gain hands-on experience at a central government fertilizer plant. BVFCL follows the Government of India reservation policy for Unreserved (UR), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates across all the disciplines listed above.
Who Can Apply?
Graduate Engineer Apprentice:
- B.E./B.Tech in Chemical/Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Electronics & Telecommunication/Electrical & Electronics/Instrumentation and Control Engineering
Diploma (Technician) Apprentice:
- Diploma in Chemical/Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation & Electronics, or Fire & Safety
Trade Apprentice (HSLC + ITI):
- Machinist
- Draughtsman (Mechanical)
- Welder
- Fitter
- Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- Plumber
- Draughtsman (Civil)
Other Discipline:
- B.Sc for the Production/Chemical department apprentice seat
Important Eligibility Notes:
- Minimum Marks: 50% aggregate for General and OBC candidates, 45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates against reserved positions.
- You should not have completed your qualifying exam more than 3 years before 1 June 2026.
- You should not have already undergone, or currently be pursuing, apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act.
- If you already have 1 year or more of job experience or training after completing your ITI qualification, you are not eligible for the Technician (Diploma) Apprentice category.
- Your qualification must be from a recognized Government institute, completed as a full-time regular course in the relevant discipline.
- PwBD candidates in the Orthopedically Handicapped, Partially Blind and Partially Deaf categories can also apply against the HR and Finance discipline seat.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 24 years old as on 1 June 2026.
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates.
- PwBD Relaxation: Up to 10 years for general PwBD candidates, up to 15 years for SC/ST PwBD candidates, and up to 13 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) PwBD candidates.
Selection Process
The selection will be done in 2 stages:
- Merit List: Based on your aggregate marks in Matriculation (10th) combined with your marks in the relevant discipline qualification (Graduate/Diploma/ITI/B.Sc). For your Matriculation percentage, marks from all subjects are counted. For your discipline percentage, marks mentioned in your provisional or final certificate are used.
- Personal Interview
How to Apply
Graduate and Diploma Engineer Apprentices must register through NATS (National Apprenticeship Training Scheme), the Government of India's official portal for engineering apprentices. ITI Trade Apprentices must register through Apprenticeship India, the government portal under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS).
- If you are applying for Graduate or Diploma Engineer Apprentice, register on the NATS portal at nats.education.gov.in and apply for BVFCL Namrup.
- If you are applying for ITI Trade Apprentice, register on the Apprenticeship India portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
- After registering on NATS, send a screenshot of your applied screen to the email address given in the official notification.
- Keep your Matriculation certificate, discipline qualification certificates, category certificate (if applicable), photograph and ID proof ready for verification.
- Wait for BVFCL to contact shortlisted candidates for a personal interview at Namrup, Assam.
Completing this apprenticeship gives you a certificate recognized under the Apprentices Act, 1961, which is valuable when you apply for future government and PSU jobs. The 12-month training also gives you real plant experience at a central government fertilizer unit, which is a strong addition to your resume.

Responsibilities
- Learn hands-on plant operations under the guidance of senior engineers and technicians
- Assist in day-to-day maintenance, production or instrumentation tasks in your assigned department
- Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures at the plant
- Maintain training logs and complete assigned practical modules
- Support your department team during shutdowns, inspections and routine checks
- Prepare periodic training reports as required by your mentor
- Attend classroom and on-the-job training sessions as per the apprenticeship schedule
