For Science Trade (Advt. 12/2026)

  • You need to have passed Intermediate (10+2) with Science from a recognized Board or University.

For Engineering Trades (Advt. 02/2026 to 11/2026, 13/2026)

  • You need a Diploma or Degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized institution, as specified in the official notification for each trade.

Domicile: Candidates from anywhere in India can apply. However, reservation benefits (SC/ST/OBC/EBC/EWS/PwBD) apply only to Bihar domicile holders.

  • Pay Level: Level-4 under 7th Pay Commission
  • Pay Scale: Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100 per month

The starting basic pay is Rs 25,500 per month, which means your total in-hand salary (including DA and HRA) can be around Rs 35,000 to Rs 40,000 per month at the entry level.

Selection Process

  1. Written Examination (Computer-Based Test): The CBT will have 100 objective-type questions carrying 100 marks. The exam duration is 2 hours. You get 1 mark for each correct answer and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The written exam carries 75% weightage in the final merit list.
  2. Work Experience / Higher Qualification: The remaining 25% weightage in the final merit is given for your work experience and higher educational qualifications.
  3. Document Verification: After the merit list is prepared, shortlisted candidates will go through document verification to confirm their eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Assist professors and instructors in setting up laboratory equipment and materials before practical sessions.
  • Prepare chemical solutions, reagents, and specimens needed for experiments in the relevant discipline.
  • Keep all lab instruments, tools, and machines in proper working condition and report faults to the department.
  • Maintain records of lab stock, chemicals, equipment, and their usage in the prescribed registers.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure students follow lab safety rules during experiments.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials as per government guidelines.
  • Work with the technical staff to calibrate and test equipment regularly.
  • Manage the lab inventory, place purchase requests for consumables, and track deliveries.
