Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 for the post of Assistant Sub-Inspector (Operation) in Bihar Police Radio (Wireless) wing. This is a great opportunity for B.Sc. Physics graduates who want to join the Bihar Police force.

A total of 462 posts are available under the Home Department, Government of Bihar. Selected candidates will work in the Radio/Wireless division of Bihar Police.

• Unreserved (UR): 185 posts
• Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 46 posts
• Scheduled Caste (SC): 74 posts
• Scheduled Tribe (ST): 5 posts
• Extremely Backward Class (EBC): 83 posts

• BC Women: 14 posts

35% posts are reserved for women candidates (157 posts).

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)

• Education: B.Sc. degree with Physics from a recognized university. Minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates).
• Age Limit (as on 01-08-2025):
  • General Male: 21 to 37 years
  • General Female / OBC / EBC: 21 to 40 years
  • SC / ST: 21 to 42 years
• Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
• Domicile: Bihar domicile is needed for reservation benefits.

Salary and Pay

Selected candidates will get salary as per Level 5 of 7th Pay Commission.

• Pay Scale: Rs. 29,200 - Rs. 92,300 per month
• Estimated In-Hand Salary: Rs. 42,000 - Rs. 46,000 per month
• Allowances: DA, HRA, Medical Allowance, and Uniform Allowance

Physical Standards

Physical Fitness Test:

• Running: Male - 1 mile in 7 minutes; Female - 1 km in 7 minutes
• High Jump, Long Jump, and Shot Put are also part of the fitness test

Selection Process (5 Stages)

1. Written Preliminary Exam - 100 MCQs, 100 marks, 2 hours
2. Written Mains Exam - Paper 1 (Hindi + English, qualifying) and Paper 2 (Physics, merit-based)
3. Physical Fitness Test (PFT) - Qualifying in nature
4. Document Verification
5. Medical Examination
