MPESB Subedar and SI Recruitment 2026: Overview

Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB) is running this recruitment for Subedar and Sub-Inspector roles under Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. It brings the non-technical police command stream and specialist technical work into one selection exercise. Post-wise Duties

Subedar

You will help supervise personnel, maintain unit discipline and readiness, coordinate assigned deployments and keep senior officers informed about operational needs.

Sub-Inspector, Special Armed Force

You will work with an armed police formation, lead teams during assigned duties and check that weapons, equipment and personnel remain ready for deployment.

Sub-Inspector, District Police Force

You will handle public-order and investigation work, record cases and enquiries, coordinate field action and guide constabulary staff in your assigned district unit.

Sub-Inspector, Arms

You will support armoury inspection and technical control, maintain records for weapons and mechanical equipment, and flag defects that need authorised repair or replacement.

Sub-Inspector, Photo

You will create accurate photographic records of scenes, evidence and official assignments, then preserve the images with clear labels and secure handling notes.

Sub-Inspector, Questioned Documents

You will examine questioned documents, compare writing or printed features, document your observations and prepare material that can support an investigation or expert opinion.

Sub-Inspector, Fingerprint

You will locate, record and compare fingerprint evidence, maintain identification records and present findings in a clear form for investigators and authorised proceedings.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile and reservation: candidates who are not permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh can compete only in the unreserved open category; state reservation benefits need valid Madhya Pradesh domicile proof.
• Citizenship: you must be an Indian citizen and hold every claimed qualification or supporting certificate by the application cut-off.
• Family condition: the state service rule concerning more than two living children applies, subject to the exception described in the rulebook.
• Government employees: serving staff need prior permission from their appointing authority and must produce the prescribed service-release document if selected.
• Final checks: appointment remains subject to medical fitness, character verification and scrutiny of your original records.
• Posting: selected officers can be placed in police units across Madhya Pradesh according to departmental requirements.
