Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has invited online applications for the post of Professor in Physics and Chemistry. These posts are in Government Engineering Colleges under the Science, Technology and Technical Education Department, Government of Bihar. There are a total of 13 Professor posts across two subjects:

Salary

Selected candidates will get a salary under Pay Level 14 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC).

• Basic Pay: Rs. 1,44,200 per month
• Pay Scale: Rs. 1,44,200 – Rs. 2,18,200
• Other benefits: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), and Medical Allowance as per Bihar Government rules

Who Can Apply — Eligibility

Educational Qualification

• Ph.D. degree in Physics (for Advt. 10/2026) or Chemistry (for Advt. 11/2026)
• First Class (55% or above) at Bachelor's level or Master's level in the relevant subject

Experience

• At least 10 years of experience in Teaching, Research, or Industry
• Minimum 3 years of experience at the level of Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A1)

Research Publications (one of the two conditions must be met)

• Option 1: At least 6 research publications in SCI/UGC/AICTE approved journals, plus 2 Ph.D. scholars guided
• Option 2: At least 10 research publications in SCI/UGC/AICTE approved journals

Age Limit (as on 01 August 2026)

• Minimum Age: 32 years
• Maximum Age: No upper age limit
