Bilaspur District Court has released a notification for 37 vacancies under advertisement number YJS/Do-11-3/2024 dated 22 July 2026, covering Shorthand Typist Grade-3 (Hindi), Assistant Grade-3 and Vehicle Driver posts. Reservation for SC/ST/OBC and women is restricted to local residents of Chhattisgarh — applicants from other states are considered under the unreserved category. This recruitment is subject to the final order of the Supreme Court in SLP (C) No. 19668/2022.

Who Can Apply?

For Shorthand Typist Grade-3 (Hindi) - Level-7, Rs. 28,700-91,300/month:

• Graduate degree from a recognized university
• Passed Hindi shorthand exam from a recognized shorthand and typing board
• Knowledge of Hindi typing on computer and computer applications
• Knowledge of Chhattisgarhi dialect/local language

For Assistant Grade-3 - Level-4, Rs. 19,500-62,000/month:

• Graduate degree from a recognized university
• One-year computer diploma from a recognized board/university
• Knowledge of Hindi and English typing on computer
• Knowledge of Chhattisgarhi dialect/local language

For Vehicle Driver - Level-4, Rs. 19,500-62,000/month:

• Passed Class 8th from a state government recognized board/institution
• Valid transport/commercial driving licence with driving experience (vehicle mechanics get preference)
• Must be medically fit
• Knowledge of Chhattisgarhi dialect/local language

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 30 years old as on 1 January 2026.
• Local residents of Chhattisgarh get a higher upper age limit of 40 years.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC (Chhattisgarh) get 5 years, women (Chhattisgarh residents) get 10 years, and permanent/temporary government employees get an additional 5 years.
• Persons with disabilities get age relaxation as per the Chhattisgarh General Administration Department circular dated 27 September 2014, and selected PwBD candidates must submit a UDID certificate at the time of joining.
• Including all relaxations, your age cannot go beyond 45 years.

Salary

• Shorthand Typist Grade-3 (Hindi): Rs. 28,700 to Rs. 91,300 per month (Pay Level-7)
• Assistant Grade-3 and Vehicle Driver: Rs. 19,500 to Rs. 62,000 per month (Pay Level-4)
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Chhattisgarh government rules.

Selection Process

For Shorthand Typist Grade-3 and Assistant Grade-3 posts, selection has 2 stages:

1. Written Exam: 50 objective questions for 50 marks in 1 hour, covering general mental ability, general knowledge, current affairs and computer. There is no negative marking. This stage is only for screening — marks are not added to your final merit. Candidates are shortlisted at 10 times the vacancies per category for the skill test.
2. Skill Test (100 marks): Shorthand Typist candidates take dictation of 250 words at 100 words per minute for 2 minutes 30 seconds, then type it in Hindi on computer in 10 minutes (50+50 marks). Assistant Grade-3 candidates type 250 words each in Hindi and English on computer in 10 minutes (50+50 marks). Both are conducted on Ubuntu/Linux with Unicode typing, with half a mark deducted per wrong word. Your final merit is based only on skill test marks. If two or more candidates score equal marks, the older candidate (earlier date of birth) gets priority; if birth dates also match, the candidate with higher Written Exam marks is preferred.

Selected candidates will be appointed for a probation period of 3 years, or as prescribed by the Chhattisgarh government from time to time.

For the Vehicle Driver post, selection is through a Skill Test/Interview worth 50 marks that checks your physical fitness, driving skill, obedience and work experience. If applications exceed 20 times the vacancies, a merit list based on Class 8th marks is used to shortlist 20 times the vacancies for the skill test/interview.
