Assam State Level EMRS Society, under the Directorate of Tribal Affairs (Plain), Assam, has released a notification for temporary Guest Teacher engagement for the 2026-27 academic year. The posts are for TGT and PGT subjects at Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Dalbari, District Baksa. This is a temporary school teaching role that will continue for one academic year or until regular teachers join, whichever happens earlier.

Who Can Apply?

For TGT Posts

• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject or subject combination and also 50% marks in aggregate.
• Professional qualification: You must have a B.Ed. degree from a recognised university or autonomous institute approved by NCTE.
• Teacher eligibility: You must have qualified CTET or STET.

For PGT Posts

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree with at least 50% marks in the relevant subject.
• Commerce condition: For PGT Commerce, you must have studied Accountancy and Business Studies at graduation level.
• Professional qualification: A B.Ed. degree and CTET/STET qualification are required as per the notification.

Other Conditions

• Domicile: You must be a permanent resident of Assam.
• Language: You should have proficiency in teaching in English medium.
• Retired teachers: Retired teachers from State Government, KVS, NVS, or recognised reputed CBSE schools can also apply.

Age Limit

• You should be at least 21 years old and not more than 55 years old as on 01 April 2026.
• Retired teachers: Maximum age is 62 years.

Salary

• Guest Teacher TGT: Rs. 33,000 per month with NESTS recruitment-rule qualifications.
• Guest Teacher TGT: Rs. 29,000 per month without full NESTS recruitment-rule qualifications.
• Guest Teacher PGT: Rs. 35,000 per month with NESTS recruitment-rule qualifications.
• Guest Teacher PGT: Rs. 31,000 per month without full NESTS recruitment-rule qualifications.
• Accommodation: Rent-free campus accommodation may be provided by the EMRS, subject to room availability.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection is based on academic marks, experience, document scrutiny, and district-level interview.

1. Application Scrutiny: Applications submitted at the District Commissioner's office will be checked on 20, 21 and 22 May 2026.
2. Academic Assessment: Graduation marks can carry up to 100 marks, B.Ed. marks can carry up to 100 marks, and previous teaching experience can carry up to 10 marks.
3. District-Level Interview: Interviews will be held on 25, 26 and 27 May 2026 by the District Level Committee for the concerned EMRS.
4. Final Approval: The district panel will be sent to the Assam State Level EMRS Society for final approval.
