Assam State Level EMRS Society TGT Guest Teacher Recruitment 2026 - 14 Posts

Assam State Level EMRS Society, under the Directorate of Tribal Affairs (Plain), Assam, has notified temporary Guest Teacher posts for the academic year 2026-27. The posts are for TGT subjects in EMRS Phuloni, Ardaopur, Howraghat, and Boko. This is a temporary guest teacher engagement up to one academic year or until regular teachers join, so it is useful for trained teachers who can join residential school duties quickly.

School-wise vacancies are spread across EMRS Phuloni in Karbi Anglong, EMRS Ardaopur in Dima Hasao, EMRS Howraghat in Karbi Anglong, and EMRS Boko in Kamrup. EMRS Phuloni and EMRS Boko have one post each in all six subjects, while the remaining subject posts are in Ardaopur and Howraghat.

Who Can Apply?

• Residency: You must be a permanent resident of Assam.
• Qualification: You need a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks in the concerned subject or subject combination and in aggregate.
• Teacher training: You must have a B.Ed. degree from a recognised university or autonomous institute approved by NCTE.
• Teacher eligibility: You must have qualified CTET or STET.
• Medium: You should be able to teach confidently in the English medium.
• Retired teachers: Retired teachers from State Government, KVS, NVS, or reputed CBSE schools can also apply if they meet the age condition.
• Subject choice: Apply for the subject where your graduation subject combination supports the TGT requirement.
• District choice: If you are interested in more than one EMRS district, you need a separate district-wise application and interview.

Note: If fully qualified teachers are not available, the selection committee may consider other candidates without the full required qualifications.

Age Limit

• You should be at least 21 years old and not more than 55 years old as on 01 April 2026.
• Retired teachers: The upper age limit is 62 years.

Salary

• Rs. 33,000 per month: For TGT Guest Teachers who meet the qualifications as per NESTS recruitment rules.
• Rs. 29,000 per month: For TGT Guest Teachers considered without the full NESTS recruitment-rule qualifications.
• Accommodation: Guest Teachers may get rent-free campus accommodation if rooms are available at the respective EMRS.
• Working hours: Guest Teachers will follow the same working hours as regular teachers in the residential school.

The engagement is temporary for the academic year 2026-27 or until regular teachers are appointed, whichever happens earlier. Guest Teachers do not get a claim for regular appointment, and the school may end the engagement with 7 days prior intimation.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is merit and interview based. The District Level Committee will handle scrutiny, interview, panel preparation, and final submission to the Assam State Level EMRS Society.

1. Application Scrutiny: Applications submitted at the concerned District Commissioner's office will be checked on 20, 21, and 22 May 2026.
2. Academic Assessment: Graduation marks, B.Ed. marks, and teaching experience will be counted. Graduation and B.Ed. each carry up to 100 marks, and experience carries up to 10 marks.
3. Interview: Interviews are scheduled on 25, 26, and 27 May 2026 at district level for the concerned EMRS.
4. Final Approval: The district panel will be sent to the Assam State Level EMRS Society for final approval.

The assessment gives weight to actual teaching readiness. Graduation percentage, B.Ed. percentage, and completed teaching experience are counted, and calculations will be rounded to two decimal places.

The district interview is important because the panel is prepared separately for the concerned EMRS district. Keep your subject papers, B.Ed. proof, CTET/STET proof, residency proof, and experience records ready before scrutiny so that your marks can be checked without delay.

2. Attach proof of qualification, B.Ed., CTET/STET, experience, and Assam permanent residency where applicable.
3. Submit the application at the District Commissioner's office of the concerned EMRS district.
4. If you want to apply for EMRSs in more than one district, submit a separate application for each district and attend the interview separately.
5. Keep your original documents ready for scrutiny and interview.

• Stay available for residential school duties and student supervision as assigned by the Principal.
• Keep student records and follow academic instructions issued by the EMRS Society.
• Support training programmes, escort duties, and other school responsibilities when assigned.
