CUSAT Computer Science Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), Kochi has released Notification No. Ad.D2/Contract/2023 dated 12.05.2026 for 2 Assistant Professor posts in the Department of Computer Science on a contract basis. The appointment is initially for one year (with a break during May-June vacation) or till a regular teacher joins duty, whichever is earlier. Freshers with the required qualification can apply.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply if you meet either option A or option B below.

Option A (AICTE Route)

• M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science & Analytics, OR Master's in Computer Applications (MCA), with First Class or equivalent.
• Other eligibility conditions as per AICTE Regulations 2019.

Option B (UGC Route)

• Master's Degree in Computer Science / Artificial Intelligence / Data Science or equivalent with 55% marks from a recognised Indian University (or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University).
• NET qualified OR awarded Ph.D.
• Other eligibility conditions as per UGC Regulations 2018.

Desirable Qualification

• Ph.D in the relevant discipline.

Salary

• For Ph.D holders: Rs. 42,000 per month (consolidated)
• For rest of the contract teachers: Rs. 40,000 per month (consolidated)
• The appointment is initially for one year, with a break during the May-June vacation, or till a regular teacher joins duty, whichever is earlier.

• SC / ST candidates: Rs. 195
• Payment mode: Online only (Net banking or Credit / Debit card). Cash, cheque, or DD will not be accepted.
• Application fee is not refundable.

Selection Process

The selection is based on a screening of applications and an interview by the University:

1. Scrutiny of Applications: Only applications received in the prescribed format with supporting documents will be considered.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview by CUSAT.
3. Final Appointment: Conditions of service, salary and benefits will be governed by KSR, KS&SSR, Act/Statutes/Ordinances and Syndicate Decisions of CUSAT.

Communal Reservation Policy will be followed at the time of appointment, treating University Departments / Centres as a single unit.

• Guide students in seminars, mini-projects, and dissertations
• Conduct lab sessions and supervise practical work in the department
• Participate in departmental meetings, admissions and academic activities
• Support research activities and publish papers in peer-reviewed journals
