APMSRB Paediatrician & General Physician Recruitment 2026 — 49 Posts

The Andhra Pradesh Medical Services Recruitment Board (APMSRB), operating under the Health Medical and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, has released Notification No. 06/2026 dated 14 April 2026. A total of 49 contract posts are being filled under the National Health Mission — 42 Paediatricians for SNCU/NICU units and 7 General Physicians for NPPC centres. Only Andhra Pradesh State candidates are eligible. The vacancies include both regular and backlog posts, and the numbers are tentative and may change.

Who Can Apply?

For Paediatrician (SNCU/NICU):

• Qualification: MBBS and Post Graduate Degree in Paediatrics from a recognised university
• Registration: Valid registration with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (APMC) is mandatory

For General Physician (NPPC):

• Qualification: MBBS and Post Graduate Degree in General Medicine from a recognised university
• Registration: Valid registration with the Andhra Pradesh Medical Council (APMC) is mandatory

Other Requirements:

• Domicile: Only Andhra Pradesh State candidates are eligible to apply. You must qualify as a local candidate as per the definitions under G.O.No.132 GAD Dt.13-6-2016.
• Candidates who studied from 4th to 10th Class in AP, or who migrated from Telangana to AP within 3 years of 2 June 2014, are considered local candidates.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 18 years
• Maximum age: 42 years (as on 01/01/2026)
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC / ST / BC / EWS: 5 years relaxation
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PBD): 10 years relaxation
  • Ex-Servicemen: Allowed to deduct 3 years from their age plus the length of service rendered in the armed forces (subject to overall maximum age limit)

Salary

• Paediatrician (SNCU/NICU): Rs. 1,10,000 per month (Contract Basis)
• General Physician (NPPC): Rs. 1,10,000 per month (Contract Basis)
• This is a consolidated contract salary under the National Health Mission. Other allowances may not apply as per NHM contract norms.

Application Fee

• OC (Open Category / General): Rs. 1,500
• BC / SC / ST / EWS / Differently Abled: Rs. 1,000
• Payment is to be made online only at the time of the walk-in recruitment on 27 April 2026.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on merit and reservation rules. The total marks are 100, broken down as follows:

1. Qualifying Examination Marks (75 marks): Marks scored in your Post Graduate qualifying examination form the primary component.
2. Experience Weightage — Years since PG completion (10 marks): You get 1 mark per completed year since passing your PG/Super-specialty degree, up to a maximum of 10 marks.
3. Contract Service Weightage (15 marks): Marks awarded based on prior contract service in government health facilities:
   • COVID-19 duties: 5.0 marks per 6 months (0.83 mark per month)
   • Tribal Area service: 2.5 marks per 6 months
   • Rural Area service: 2.0 marks per 6 months
   • Urban Area service: 1.0 mark per 6 months
   • Service of less than 6 months does not attract weightage (except COVID-19 duties)

Contract Service Certificate must be submitted from the competent authority (Superintendent of Government Teaching Hospital / Principal of Medical College / DM&HO / DCHS) in the format given in Annexure-V.

• Provide specialist medical care to infants and children in SNCU/NICU settings (Paediatrician) or general inpatients under NPPC (General Physician)
• Monitor and manage critical patients, including neonates requiring intensive care
• Diagnose and treat diseases as per established NHM clinical protocols and guidelines
• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment charts, and discharge summaries
• Coordinate with nursing staff, paramedics, and hospital administration for smooth patient care
• Report medical data and health outcomes to district and state NHM authorities as required
• Participate in health camps, outreach programmes, and community health activities under NHM
