Who Can Apply?

For Professor (Medical Candidates)

• MBBS degree recognised by the Medical Council of India (Schedule I or II of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956)
• Postgraduate qualification: MD/MS or equivalent in the relevant discipline
• For surgical super-specialties: M.Ch.; for medical super-specialties: D.M. (2/3/5 year recognised course)
• Experience: 14 years teaching/research after MD/MS; OR 12 years after M.Ch./D.M. (2 or 5 year course); OR 11 years after D.M./M.Ch. (3 year course)

For Professor (Non-Medical Candidates)

• Postgraduate degree (Master's) in the discipline/allied subject
• Doctorate degree from a recognised university
• Experience: 14 years teaching/research after Doctorate

For Additional Professor (Medical Candidates)

• Same medical qualification as Professor (MBBS + MD/MS)
• Experience: 10 years after MD/MS; OR 8 years after D.M./M.Ch. (2 or 5 year course); OR 7 years after D.M./M.Ch. (3 year course)

For Additional Professor (Non-Medical Candidates)

• Master's degree + Doctorate from a recognised university
• Experience: 10 years after Doctorate

For Associate Professor (Medical Candidates)

• Same medical qualification as Professor (MBBS + MD/MS)
• Experience: 6 years after MD/MS; OR 4 years after D.M./M.Ch. (2 or 5 year course); OR 3 years after D.M./M.Ch. (3 year course)

For Associate Professor (Non-Medical Candidates)

• Master's degree + Doctorate from a recognised university
• Experience: 6 years after Doctorate

For Assistant Professor (Medical Candidates)

• Same medical qualification as Professor (MBBS + MD/MS)
• Experience: 3 years after MD/MS; OR 1 year after D.M./M.Ch. (2 or 5 year course); OR no experience needed for 3-year D.M./M.Ch.

For Assistant Professor (Non-Medical Candidates)

• Master's degree + Doctorate from a recognised university
• Experience: 3 years after Doctorate

For Hospital Administration Posts (all levels)

• MBBS + MD in Hospital Administration or Master's in Hospital Administration (MHA) from an MCI-recognised institution
• Experience requirement varies by post level (14/10/6/3 years)

Note: All qualifications must be recognised by MCI/NMC/DCI wherever applicable. Experience is counted after acquiring the prescribed qualification and must be completed by the cut-off date.

Age Limit

• Assistant Professor & Associate Professor: Maximum 50 years
• Additional Professor & Professor: Maximum 58 years
• Age is calculated as on the last date of online application (18 May 2026)

Age Relaxation (Direct Recruitment only):

• SC/ST: 5 years above upper age limit
• OBC: 3 years above upper age limit
• PwBD: 10 years above upper age limit
• Government Servant: 5 years above upper age limit

Salary

• Professor: Pay Level 14-A — Rs. 1,68,900 to Rs. 2,20,400 per month
• Additional Professor: Pay Level 13A-2 — Rs. 1,48,200 to Rs. 2,11,400 per month
• Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A-1 — Rs. 1,38,300 to Rs. 2,09,200 per month
• Assistant Professor: Pay Level 12 — Rs. 1,01,500 to Rs. 1,67,400 per month
• Plus DA, HRA, TA, and other allowances as per Central Government rules
• Residential accommodation provided subject to availability

Application Fee

• UR / EWS / OBC: Rs. 3,000 per application form
• SC / ST: Rs. 500 per application form
• PwBD: No fee (Exempted)
• Deputation candidates: No fee (Exempted)
• Fee is paid through the online application portal only. Fee once paid is non-refundable.
• If applying for more than one post, a separate application form and fee is required for each post.

Selection Process

There is no written exam. Selection is done in two stages:

1. Short Listing (Bio-data based): The Selection Committee will screen applications based on academic qualifications, experience, and bio-data. Minimum qualifications do not guarantee selection — candidates are shortlisted based on merit.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates must appear physically in person before the Selection Committee at AIIMS Rishikesh. Online interviews via Skype, Zoom, or any electronic medium are not accepted. No TA/DA is paid for appearing in the interview. Candidates must bring a printed copy of the application form along with original documents and attested photocopies.

• Conduct clinical rounds, outpatient clinics, and manage patient care in the assigned specialty
• Carry out research and publish papers in peer-reviewed and indexed medical journals
• Guide junior faculty, residents, and postgraduate students in academic and research activities
• Participate in departmental committees, academic councils, and institutional administrative duties
• Prepare and evaluate assessments, examinations, and clinical postings for students
• Follow institute rules, NMC/MCI regulations, and standards of professional conduct at all times
