Assam Petro-Chemicals Limited (APL), a State Public Sector Undertaking of the Government of Assam, manufactures Methanol from Natural Gas, with Formalin as its downstream product. The company has released a notification for 20 Apprentice seats under the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) and National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS), split across five engineering disciplines. Candidates with an ITI qualification in the Diesel Mechanic trade are not eligible for the Mechanical discipline.

Who Can Apply?

Since this is an apprenticeship and not a regular job, the eligibility bar is based purely on your recent academic qualification rather than work experience:

• Qualification: You need to have passed the Engineering Diploma or ITI examination in the relevant trade within the last five years counting back from the date of the walk-in.
• Minimum Marks: You should have secured at least 55% marks in your qualifying examination.
• Relaxation: SC, ST(P), ST(H), and OBC-NCL candidates get a 5% relaxation in the minimum qualifying marks, bringing their cutoff down to 50%.
• Candidates without a Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) Certificate will be considered under the General category, so make sure to carry your NCL certificate if you belong to OBC-NCL.

Stipend

• ITI holders will get a monthly stipend of Rs. 8,200.
• Diploma holders (as prescribed in the apprenticeship curriculum) will get Rs. 9,600.
• Diploma in Engineering holders will get Rs. 10,900 per month.
• These stipend rates follow the Apprenticeship Rules (amended 2019), so they are standard government-fixed rates and not negotiable.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stage:

1. Walk-in Interaction: Selection is strictly on merit, based on the percentage of marks you secured in your qualifying examination. There is no written test or interview round, so your Diploma/ITI marksheet does most of the talking.

2. Download and fill the Bio-Data of Candidate form available on the APL careers page, and keep a printed copy ready.

4. Carry originals and photocopies of your Diploma/ITI mark sheets, category certificates, and the filled Bio-Data form.
5. Attend the walk-in interaction between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM on the date allotted to your discipline.
