Samagra Shiksha, Andhra Pradesh is hiring 299 teaching staff for its Type-III Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs). This is open to women candidates only and the jobs are on a contract basis for the 2026-27 academic year. If you have the right teaching qualification, you can apply online before 5 June 2026. The Samagra Shiksha, Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh has released Recruitment Notification No.01/KGBV/APSS/2026 for 299 teaching posts in 352 Type-III KGBVs across the State. These posts cover Principal, Post Graduate Teacher (PGT), Contract Residential Teacher (CRT) and Physical Education Teacher (PET). The recruitment covers all districts except East Godavari, Dr. B.R.A. Konaseema, West Godavari, Krishna and Guntur. Only woman candidates can apply since KGBVs are girls' residential schools.

Who Can Apply?

This recruitment is for women candidates only. The qualification depends on the post you are applying for.

Principal

• Any Post-Graduate Degree from a UGC-recognised university with at least 50% marks (45% for BC, 40% for SC/ST/Differently abled)
• Plus B.Ed or M.A (Education) from an NCTE/UGC-recognised university with the same minimum marks
• Must have passed the AP Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET)

Post Graduate Teacher (PGT)

• Post-graduation in the relevant subject (English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History, Economics, Civics, Commerce, etc.) with at least 50% marks (45% BC, 40% SC/ST/Differently abled)
• Plus B.Ed with the methodology of the concerned subject, or a 2-year PG course from RIE/NCERT
• APTET is required for general subjects; not required for vocational PGTs (A&T, CSE, PSTT, MLT, MPHW, GFC)
• Vocational PGTs need subject-specific degrees — for example PGT (CSE): BE/B.Tech (CSE/IT) or AMIE; PGT (MPHW): B.Sc Nursing (4 years)

Contract Residential Teacher (CRT)

• Four-year integrated degree from RIE/NCERT with at least 50% marks, or a Second-Class Bachelor's degree with 50% marks (45% BC, 40% SC/ST/Differently abled) in the concerned subject
• Plus B.Ed with the relevant subject methodology (or Pandit Training for Telugu/Hindi)
• APTET is required for all CRT subjects

Physical Education Teacher (PET)

• Intermediate (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks, or a Bachelor's degree with 50% marks
• Plus UGD P.Ed / B.P.Ed / M.P.Ed recognised by NCTE with at least 50% marks
• APTET is not required for PET. Differently abled persons are not eligible for PET.

English is the medium of instruction in all KGBVs. You should have studied English as a subject up to graduation level.

Age Limit

• You should have completed 18 years and not crossed 45 years as on 01-07-2025.
• Age Relaxation: For SC/ST/BC/EWS candidates, the maximum age is 50 years.
• For differently abled candidates, the maximum age is 52 years.
• For ex-service women, the maximum age is 45 years.

Salary

• These are contract posts in Type-III KGBVs. The monthly consolidated pay is fixed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and paid as per the terms of the contract agreement.

Application Fee

• All candidates: Rs. 300 (application fee and processing charges)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test. Selection is purely on merit, with weightage given to your academic and professional marks (total 100 marks). Selection is done district-wise.

1. Merit Calculation (100 marks): For Principal and PGT — SSC 20, Intermediate 10, Bachelor's degree 20, Master's degree 30, B.Ed/MA(Edu) 20. For CRT — SSC 20, Intermediate 20, Bachelor's degree 30, B.Ed/MA(Edu) 30. For PET — SSC 20, Intermediate 40, UGD PE/B.P.Ed 40.
2. Selection List: The State office generates a selection list at a 1:3 ratio for teaching posts.
3. Certificate Verification: Done by the District Level Committee.
4. Final Merit List: Prepared at the district level after verification, followed by a grievance window.

If two candidates have equal marks, the elder candidate gets a higher rank.
