The Andaman & Nicobar Islands Institute of Medical Sciences (ANIIMS), Sri Vijaya Puram, has opened 2 faculty posts in the Department of Cardiology - Associate Professor (1) and Assistant Professor (1). ANIIMS is an NMC-recognized medical college affiliated to Pondicherry University, with the 545-bed G.B. Pant Hospital as its teaching hospital. The posts are offered on a contract basis for 5 years (extendable by 2 years) or on deputation. Selection is through a hybrid interview, so there is no written exam.

Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professor (Pay Level 12):

• Qualification: D.M./DNB/DrNB in Cardiology from a recognized institution.
• Requirement: You must have completed the Basic Course in Biomedical Research from a medical institution designated by the Commission.

For Associate Professor (Pay Level 13):

• Qualification: D.M./DNB/DrNB in Cardiology.
• Experience: At least 2 years as Assistant Professor in Cardiology in a recognized medical institution.
• Research: At least 2 research publications as Assistant Professor (among the first three authors) plus the Basic Course in Biomedical Research.

Salary

• Associate Professor: Consolidated pay of Rs. 2,99,750 per month (Pay Level 13), plus a special duty allowance of Rs. 25,000 and HRA of Rs. 18,000 per month (if accommodation is not provided).
• Assistant Professor: Consolidated pay of Rs. 2,45,250 per month (Pay Level 12), plus a special duty allowance of Rs. 20,000 and HRA of Rs. 16,000 per month (if accommodation is not provided).
• The pay includes an inbuilt 3% annual increment on the consolidated amount.

• All candidates must pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs. 1,000.
• Payment mode: Online transfer to the ANIIMS Revenue account at State Bank of India, Port Blair. Send the transaction receipt along with your application.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based only on a hybrid interview:

1. Interview: A hybrid (online/offline) interview that reviews your academic record, research credentials, publications, and conference presentations.
2. Document Verification: You must produce all original certificates at the time of the interview.
3. Medical Fitness: The selected candidate must be declared medically fit by the competent medical board.
