Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) Teaching Associate Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
Acharya N. G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) is one of the leading state agricultural universities in Andhra Pradesh, running agricultural, horticulture and food science colleges across the state. The university has released a walk-in interview notice for 1 Teaching Associate post in the Department of Plant Pathology at S.V. Agricultural College, Tirupati. This is a purely temporary, contractual position for a period of 11 months from your date of joining, or until the regular post is filled, whichever is earlier. No online application is needed — you simply walk in with your documents on the interview date. As a Teaching Associate, you will support faculty with classroom teaching, practicals, and ongoing plant disease research at the college, which makes this a great opportunity to build teaching and research experience at a reputed agricultural university.
S.V. Agricultural College, Tirupati is one of ANGRAU's premier constituent colleges, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in agriculture. It houses departments such as Plant Pathology, Agronomy, and Genetics and Plant Breeding, and regularly engages temporary teaching staff like Teaching Associates to support its growing academic and research workload while permanent recruitment is underway. ANGRAU conducts similar walk-in drives across its constituent colleges in Bapatla, Rajahmundry, Guntur and Tirupati, so keep an eye on the university's Recruitment Notifications page if this particular slot does not suit you.
Who Can Apply?
You need any ONE of the following qualifications to be eligible:
- Qualification (Option A): Ph.D. in the relevant subject (Plant Pathology)
- Qualification (Option B): Master's Degree in the relevant subject
- Qualification (Option C): Bachelor's Degree (4 or 5 years) with First Division or an equivalent overall grade point average
If you are applying under Option C, you also need:
- Experience: At least 3 years of teaching or research experience, proven through a Fellowship, Associateship, Training, or similar engagement
- Publication: At least one research paper published in a Science Citation Index (SCI) journal or a NAAS-rated journal with a rating above 4.0
Candidates with a postgraduate degree in Basic Sciences, obtained through a 3-year Bachelor's and 2-year Master's programme, must also hold a valid NET qualification. The Science Citation Index (SCI) and NAAS ratings are standard yardsticks used across Indian agricultural universities to judge the quality of research publications — a NAAS rating above 4.0 signals a well-regarded, peer-reviewed journal, so double-check your publication meets this benchmark before applying under the Bachelor's degree route.
