Andhra Medical College (AMC), Visakhapatnam has released a notification dated 14 May 2026 for 1 Lab Technician post in the ICMR Virology Lab under the Department of Microbiology. The post is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project — selected candidates will not have any right to claim permanent employment. This is a great chance for freshers with a medical lab technology background to work on a national-level ICMR research project.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification (any one):
  • B.Sc from a recognised university, OR
  • Intermediate (12th) with a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, OR
  • High School (10th) with 5 years of Lab experience
• Certificates: All educational qualification certificates must be from a recognised Board or University.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 28 years
• Age relaxation will follow standard ICMR or government rules where applicable.

Salary

• Monthly salary: Rs. 20,000 plus HRA
• A 5% increment will be applicable after 2 years of satisfactory continuous service under the DHR/ICMR programme.
• Contract will be renewed every year with a mandatory 1 to 2 day break after every 12 months.

Selection Process

Selection will be done by an interview committee at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam. The steps are:
