AIIMS Raipur Biochemistry Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raipur (AIIMS Raipur) is hiring project staff for its Department of Biochemistry through a walk-in interview. The posts belong to TERIIP Phase II, a study run by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) taskforce that sets normal reference ranges for laboratory tests in the Indian population. This phase looks only at children and adolescents below 18 years, and because it is a multicentric, community-based survey, most of the work happens in homes and health centres rather than inside the hospital.

The notice covers three different roles: a doctor-level Project Research Scientist-I, a Project Technician-III (Medical) and Project Nurse-III positions. All of them are temporary and contractual — you are engaged for six months at a time, with renewal based on your performance, inside a project that runs for three years in total. Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-I: the medical lead of the field team, open to MBBS, BDS and BVSc graduates. R&D experience in biomedical sciences and working knowledge of computers give you an edge.
• Project Technician-III (Medical): a laboratory and sampling role for DMLT/MLT diploma holders or relevant science graduates who already have work experience. Earlier work as a lab technician, in a job or a research project, is preferred.
• Project Nurse-III: a clinical field role for B.Sc or M.Sc Nursing holders with experience from a government, public sector or private institution.
• Reservation: every post in this notice is unreserved (UR), though the age relaxation for SC, ST and OBC candidates still applies.
• Lower-level filling: if nobody meets the essential qualification or experience, the selection committee may fill a post at a lower level that matches the candidate's profile.

Post-wise Duties

Project Research Scientist-I

You will lead the team in the field, plan house-to-house visits to find eligible children, and coordinate with the local government health centres for the survey. You will also monitor data collection, guide the team on how samples are collected, labelled and stored, help with screening and anthropometric measurements, and write the project reports. Keeping the data clean and reliable is your job.

Project Technician-III (Medical)

You will join the house-to-house visits, draw blood samples from all age groups — including children and newborns — and label and store them correctly. You will fill case report forms, explain the procedures to participants and support the Research Scientist with screening and body measurements.

Project Nurse-III

You will prepare the study files, take informed consent from families, collect and label blood samples, and keep participants calm and comfortable during visits. Like the technician, you need hands-on experience in drawing blood from children and newborns.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The posts end with the ICMR-funded project; each contract runs for six months and may or may not be renewed.
• No regular claim: Project work gives you no right to a regular post at ICMR, AIIMS Raipur or any central government department, and no right to absorption in another project.
• Serving employees: People already in regular time-scale government service cannot apply.
• Benefits: No PF, pension, LTC, medical claim or staff quarters; leave follows the ICMR policy for project staff.
• Full-time work: You cannot take any other paid assignment, and private practice is not allowed during the contract.
• Language and travel: You must speak Chhattisgarhi, Hindi and English fluently and expect a lot of travel within Raipur district, though your base is AIIMS Raipur, Tatibandh.
• Pay revision: The pay figures are project-specific and can change if the funding agency revises its sanction.
• Leaving early: Give one month's notice or pay one month's salary if you resign.
• Termination: AIIMS Raipur can end the engagement even during the contract period without giving a reason.
• References: Share details of two responsible persons from your locality, or two references who know you.

• In person only: Requests to attend through video-conferencing are not accepted, and no TA/DA is paid.
