AIIMS Patna is hiring 60 Senior Residents (Non-Academic) on an ad-hoc basis for 89 days across 25 medical departments. If you have an MD / MS / DNB / DM / M.Ch degree in the relevant specialty, you can attend the walk-in interview. The walk-in is scheduled for 1, 2 and 3 June 2026 at AIIMS Patna. Salary is Rs. 67,700 per month (Level 11) plus NPA and allowances. Age limit is 45 years.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna has released Advt. No. F-127239/SR-I (Ad-hoc) Rectt./2026 for 60 Senior Resident (Non-Academic) posts under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The vacancies are spread across 25 departments including Anaesthesiology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Radiation Oncology and Radio-diagnosis, and they include backlog vacancies. There is no written exam — selection is purely through walk-in interview held over three days based on the candidate's specialty.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Post Graduate Degree — MD / MS / DNB / DM / M.Ch or equivalent in the concerned department, recognised by the Medical Council of India / NMC / NBE.
• Clinical Haematology posts: Candidates with MD in General Medicine or MD in Paediatrics are also eligible.
• Senior Residency cap: If you have already completed 3 years of Senior Residency (Academic — DM/M.Ch/PDF — or Non-Academic), you are not eligible to apply.
• Registration: You need a valid UG and PG NMC / State Medical Council registration certificate.
• Qualification and experience will be counted as on the date of the walk-in interview.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 45 years as on the date of walk-in interview.
• Age Relaxation:
  • SC / ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PwBD: 10 years
  • Ex-Servicemen: 5 years
• SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates applying against unreserved vacancies will not get age relaxation.

Salary

• You will get a basic pay of Rs. 67,700 per month under Level 11 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
• Plus Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) as admissible.
• Plus DA, HRA, TA and other usual allowances as per central government rules.
• This is a 89-day ad-hoc engagement. Private practice is not allowed during the tenure.

• SC / ST / EWS: Rs. 1,200
• Ex-Servicemen / Women / PwBD: No fee
• Payment Mode: Demand Draft only, drawn in favour of AIIMS, Patna payable at AIIMS, Patna. Cash, cheque, money order or postal order will not be accepted.
• The application fee is non-refundable.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done entirely through Walk-in Interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Conducted on 1, 2 and 3 June 2026 at AIIMS Patna based on your department.
2. Document Verification: Eligibility is verified at the time of the walk-in based on the original certificates you bring.
3. Medical Fitness: Selected candidates must clear a medical examination by the AIIMS Patna Medical Board before joining.

Tie cases are resolved on the basis of date of birth — older candidates rank above younger candidates.

How to Apply

This is a walk-in interview. There is no online application. Follow these steps:

1. Check the official advertisement at aiimspatna.edu.in to confirm your department's walk-in date.
2. Prepare a Demand Draft for the application fee in favour of AIIMS, Patna.
3. Carry all original documents along with one set of self-attested copies — MBBS degree, MD/MS/DNB/DM/M.Ch degree or provisional certificate, UG and PG NMC/State registration, date of birth proof, Aadhaar card, recent passport photo, category certificate (if applicable), experience certificate, and NOC from the present employer if you are working in any Govt./Pvt. organisation.
4. Report at 09:00 AM at the E-classroom, Administrative Building, AIIMS Patna on your walk-in date.
5. Fill the application form on the spot and submit it with the documents and Demand Draft.
6. The walk-in interview starts from 10:00 AM onwards at the Committee Room, Administrative Building, AIIMS Patna.

• Provide patient care and clinical services in your assigned department at AIIMS Patna
• Handle OPD, IPD, emergency and ward duties as per the department roster
• Assist Consultants and Faculty during surgeries, procedures, rounds and case discussions
• Maintain accurate patient records, case sheets and discharge summaries
• Supervise Junior Residents, interns and nursing staff in clinical work
• Participate in academic activities, seminars, journal clubs and clinical meetings
• Follow hospital protocols, infection control norms and ethical guidelines
• Work in shifts including night duty, weekends and on-call as required
