All India Institute of Medical Sciences Nagpur (AIIMS Nagpur) has released notification number AIIMS-NGP/Admin-I/Rect./JR/2026/01 for Junior Resident (Non-Academic) posts. The appointment is initially for 6 months and may be extended up to a maximum of 1 year. Selection is mainly through interview, and an MCQ-based written test may be used only to shortlist candidates for interview.

Important note: The vacancies are provisional and AIIMS Nagpur may increase, decrease, or change them as per institute requirement and Government of India rules.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• MBBS required: You must have passed MBBS, including completion of internship, or an equivalent degree recognised by NMC/State Registration.
• Registration: NMC or State Medical Council registration is mandatory before joining, if selected.
• Junior Residency limit: You cannot apply if you have already completed 3 terms of Junior Residency (Non-Academic) at AIIMS or outside.
• Eligibility date: Age, education, and other eligibility conditions are checked as on 29 May 2026.

Reservation Certificates

• OBC-NCL: OBC certificate must be valid for Central Government institutions and issued for the financial year 2026-2027.
• EWS: EWS claim needs Income and Assets certificate in the prescribed format.
• SC/ST/PwD: Certificates must be issued by the competent authority as per Government of India rules.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years for Junior Resident (Non-Academic).
• Age date: Age is counted as on the last date of application, 29 May 2026.
• SC/ST relaxation: Up to 5 years.
• OBC relaxation: Up to 3 years.
• PwD relaxation: Up to 10 years for General, 13 years for OBC, and 15 years for SC/ST candidates with benchmark disability.

Salary

• Pay level: Level-10, Cell No. 01 as per 7th CPC.
• Starting pay: Rs. 56,100 per month.
• Allowances: Usual allowances are payable, including NPA if applicable.
• Private practice: This is a full-time appointment and private practice is not allowed.

• SC / ST: Rs. 250
• OPH / PwD: No fee
• Payment mode: NEFT to the AIIMS Exam Fee account of Bank of Baroda, AIIMS Nagpur Campus branch

Selection Process

The selection will be done through screening, interview, and possible MCQ shortlisting test.

1. Document Screening: The screening committee checks the documents submitted by candidates before interview.
2. MCQ Written Test if needed: AIIMS Nagpur may conduct an MCQ-based written test to shortlist candidates for interview.
3. Interview: Candidates cleared by the screening committee can appear for interview.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates are checked before the written test/interview at AIIMS Nagpur.

Qualifying marks: If the MCQ test is held, minimum qualifying marks are 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for OBC, and 40% for SC/ST.

4. Download and fill Annexure-I because you need to bring the filled application form to AIIMS Nagpur.
5. Report at AIIMS Nagpur at 09:00 AM on the written test/interview date with the application form, one set of photocopies, originals, and two passport-size photos.
6. Check aiimsnagpur.edu.in regularly because the written test/interview date will be notified on the official website.

Documents to Carry

• Identity and address proof: Carry PAN, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter Card, Aadhaar, or other accepted proof as applicable.
• Birth and education proof: Carry date of birth proof, Class 10th and 12th certificates, MBBS mark sheets, MBBS certificate, and internship completion certificate.
• Medical registration: Carry NMC or State Medical Council registration proof. Foreign graduates should also carry the FMGE certificate, if applicable.
• Reservation and fee proof: Carry OBC, SC, ST, PwD, or EWS certificate if applicable, plus NEFT fee details in original.
• Service candidates: Government, semi-government, and PSU employees need a No Objection Certificate from the employer.

Work conditions: The selected Junior Resident has to work full-time and may be posted in wards, OPD, casualty, Trauma and Emergency Medicine, camps, rural health centre, or urban centre as decided by AIIMS Nagpur.
