AIIMS New Delhi Senior Project Associate Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi has issued a notification for 1 temporary post of Senior Project Associate under the DBT project titled "Mission Program On Pediatric Rare Genetic Disorder" (BT-2196) in the Division of Genetics, Department of Pediatrics. This is a research-focused contract position working on genomic sequencing data analysis for rare paediatric genetic conditions. Candidates with hands-on experience in DNA sequencing, RNA-Seq, and whole-genome sequencing analysis will be given preference. You need to apply by post, email, or in person before 27 April 2026.

Who Can Apply?

Option 1 — PhD Qualification:

• Qualification: PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or an equivalent degree from a recognised university

Option 2 — M.Sc/M.Tech Qualification:

• Qualification: M.Sc or M.Tech in Bioinformatics or Human Genetics from a recognised university
• Research Paper: At least one research paper published in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal is required

Preferred Experience:

• 4 years of experience in analysing genomic sequencing data — DNA sequencing, RNA-Seq, and whole-genome sequencing
• Familiarity with genomic databases, standard protocols, and bioinformatics pipelines
• Ability to develop custom pipelines and quality control workflows
• Hands-on experience with tools like FastQC, Trimmomatic, and HISAT2
• Skills in alignment, quantification, and annotation of genomic data

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years as on the date of interview
• Age relaxation may apply as per DBT/Government of India rules for reserved category candidates

Salary

• Basic pay: Rs. 42,000 per month
• HRA: 24% of basic pay (Rs. 10,080 per month)
• Total in-hand: approximately Rs. 52,080 per month
• This is a project-based position; salary is as per DBT norms
