AIIMS Bilaspur VRDL Scientist B & Lab Technician Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bilaspur, a Central Autonomous Institute of National Importance under PMSSY, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has invited applications for 2 contractual posts at its Regional Level VRDL. The VRDL network plays a key role in India's disease surveillance and diagnostic capabilities. This is a walk-in opportunity — no online application needed. Who Can Apply?

For Scientist B (Non-Medical):

• Option 1 (1st Class): M.Sc MLT / M.Sc in Virology, Microbiology, Medical Microbiology, Biotechnology, Parasitology, or Biochemistry / M.Tech in Biotechnology or Bioinformatics — with 2 years of R&D or teaching experience in virology, microbiology, medical microbiology, or VRDL after completing your postgraduate degree.
• Option 2 (2nd Class + PhD): 2nd Class M.Sc MLT / M.Sc / M.Tech with a PhD and 2 years of R&D or teaching experience after completing PG.
• Note: A PhD in a relevant subject counts as 3 years of experience.

For Lab Technician:

• Qualification: B.Sc or Intermediate (12th) with a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology.
• Your degree or diploma must be approved by the State/UT medical education authority or a similar body.

Desirable Qualifications (Scientist B):

• Post-doctoral research or training in molecular microbiology, PCR, Real-time PCR, Sequencing, or NGS/genotyping
• Knowledge of computer applications or Business Intelligence tools
• Applied bioinformatics experience (sequencing technology)
• PhD degree holders will be given preference
• Original publications in Medline/PubMed central indexed journals

Desirable Qualifications (Lab Technician):

• Previous experience in VRDL or a Microbiology research lab / Extramural project lab
• Knowledge of computer applications or business intelligence tools

Age Limit

• Scientist B (Non-Medical): Maximum 35 years
• Lab Technician: Maximum 50 years
• Age relaxation for women candidates as per Government of India rules.
• Age and educational qualifications will be calculated as on the last date of the advertisement (07 April 2026).

Salary

• Scientist B: Rs. 56,000 per month (consolidated) + HRA based on city classification.
• Lab Technician: Rs. 20,000 per month (consolidated) + HRA based on city classification.
• Increment of 5% every 2 years as per DST (Department of Science and Technology) norms.
• Salary is consolidated — no other allowances except HRA and any allowance admissible by the funding agency.

Selection Process

Selection will be through one or more of the following stages:

1. Walk-in Interview: Candidates need to appear in person at AIIMS Bilaspur on 07 April 2026 with all original documents and self-attested photocopies.
2. Written Test (if conducted): A written test may be held depending on the number of applicants. The schedule will be published on the AIIMS Bilaspur website.
3. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified at the time of interview.

The competent authority reserves the right to change the mode of selection (walk-in, written test, or skill test) and will publish the schedule on the institute website.
