Himachal Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (HPPTCL), a state government undertaking, has released a direct recruitment notice for one Trainee Driver post. The post is reserved for UR and will be filled on a job trainee basis with fixed monthly pay. Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Qualification: You must have passed 10+2 from a recognised Board of School Education.

• Himachal Condition: You should be a bonafide Himachali, or you must have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from a school or institution situated in Himachal Pradesh.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years old as on the closing date, 30 June 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Relaxation for reserved categories will be given as per Government of Himachal Pradesh rules.
• Medical Fitness: You must be medically fit and free from any physical or visual problem that affects driving duty.

Salary

• The post carries fixed monthly pay of Rs. 13,000 on job trainee basis.
• The notification does not mention any separate DA, HRA or TA for this trainee post.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be based on a 100-mark assessment of driving skill, vehicle knowledge, 10+2 marks and relevant experience.

1. Checks before starting the vehicle: This carries 4 marks.
2. Important driver checks before moving: This carries 3 marks.
3. General vehicle control: Confident steering, smooth gear changing and braking carry 10 marks.
4. Driving Skill Test: The main driving test carries 55 marks.
5. Traffic Rules and Signs: This carries 3 marks.
6. 10+2 Marks Weightage: Your 10+2 percentage will be multiplied by 0.20, for a maximum of 20 marks.
7. Relevant Experience: Government or semi-government experience related to the post carries 5 marks, with one mark for each completed year.
8. Document Verification and Medical Examination: Original certificates and medical fitness will be checked before final appointment.
