AIIMS Bilaspur, established under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has invited applications from Indian nationals and OCI cardholders for 8 faculty posts – 1 Professor, 1 Associate Professor and 6 Assistant Professors – across 6 specialties. Retired faculty can also apply for the Professor and Associate Professor posts on a contractual basis, for an initial two-year term extendable up to two more years. This is a good opportunity for doctors with a postgraduate medical degree looking to build an academic and clinical career at one of India's newer AIIMS institutes in Himachal Pradesh.

Who Can Apply?

For Professor (Pay Level 14A, Basic Rs. 1,68,900-2,20,400):

• You need a postgraduate medical degree (MD/MS/DM/MCh or equivalent, as prescribed in Annexure-A for the specialty) and must be registered with the State Medical Council/MCI/NMC.
• Appointment is on a Direct/Deputation basis. Retired faculty can also apply on a contractual basis.

For Associate Professor (Pay Level 13A, Basic Rs. 1,38,300-2,09,200):

• You need a postgraduate medical degree in Surgical Oncology as prescribed in Annexure-A, and must be registered with the State Medical Council/MCI/NMC.
• Appointment is on a Direct/Deputation basis. Retired faculty can also apply on a contractual basis.

For Assistant Professor (Pay Level 12, Basic Rs. 1,01,500-1,67,400):

• You need a postgraduate medical degree in the relevant specialty (Anesthesiology, Biochemistry, Orthopaedics, Physiology or Trauma & Emergency) as prescribed in Annexure-A, and must be registered with the State Medical Council/MCI/NMC.
• Appointment is on a Direct Recruitment basis.

Candidates holding a DNB qualification need documentary evidence of DNB-MD/MS/DM/MCh equivalence, and may need 1-2 years of extra experience depending on their training institution, as per MCI norms.

Age Limit

• Professor: not exceeding 58 years (direct recruitment), 56 years (deputation), or 70 years (retired faculty).
• Associate Professor / Assistant Professor: not exceeding 50 years (70 years for retired faculty applying for Associate Professor only).
• Age will be counted as on 31 August 2026, the closing date for offline applications.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years, Central Government servants 5 years; EWS candidates get no age relaxation. PwBD and Ex-servicemen get relaxation as per DoPT guidelines dated 06.09.2022.
• No age relaxation is available to SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against unreserved vacancies.

Salary

• Professor: Pay Level 14A, Basic Rs. 1,68,900 to Rs. 2,20,400 per month, as per 7th CPC.
• Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A, Basic Rs. 1,38,300 to Rs. 2,09,200 per month.
• Assistant Professor: Pay Level 12, Basic Rs. 1,01,500 to Rs. 1,67,400 per month.
• All posts get usual central government allowances, plus Non-Practicing Allowance (NPA) for candidates with a medical qualification.
• Retired faculty will be paid a fixed consolidated monthly remuneration (last drawn pay minus basic pension), with no annual increment during the contract.

Application Fee

• SC / ST / PwBD: No fee
• All other categories: Rs. 2,000 + 18% GST = Rs. 2,360
• Payment mode: online NEFT only, in favour of “Executive Director, AIIMS-Bilaspur” (no UPI or other mode accepted). Keep the payment proof to upload and produce at the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be done in these steps:

1. Scrutiny: The Institute's scrutiny committee checks that your application and fee are in order.
2. Personal Interview: Eligible candidates are called for an interview by the Standing Selection Committee (SSC), based on your experience in patient care, teaching/training, research, publications and administrative work.
3. Document Verification

Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee an interview call – AIIMS Bilaspur may set additional shortlisting criteria if there are a large number of applicants.

How to Apply

1. Pay the application fee via NEFT to the AIIMS Bilaspur Recruitment Fund account and save the payment proof.
2. Download and fill the application form (Appendix-I), career graph form (Appendix-II) and presentation (Appendix-III) from the links given in the notification.
3. Submit the completed forms and documents through the official Google Form before 25 August 2026, 5:00 PM.
