  • M.Sc (Physics) and Diploma in Radiological Physics from BARC, or an equivalent AERB-approved qualification
  • Experience: 10 years in advanced computerised treatment planning systems and related technology

Scientific Officer 'D' (Biostatistics) (Level 11, Rs. 67,700/month)

  • Ph.D in Statistics or Biostatistics
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year post-Ph.D in a large hospital or biomedical research institution, with strong skills in SPSS, SAS, R etc.

Scientific Officer 'D' (Clinical Pharmacology) (Level 11, Rs. 67,700/month)

  • Ph.D in Life Sciences or allied subjects from a recognised university
  • Experience: 1 year post-Ph.D in translational or experimental pharmacology research

Scientific Officer 'C' (Cancer Epidemiology) (Level 10, Rs. 56,100/month)

  • M.Sc (Statistics / Public Health / Biological Science / Microbiology / Life Science) OR Master's in Social Sciences/Social Work, plus a computer certificate course like MS-CIT
  • Experience: At least 3 years in a cancer hospital or cancer registry

Scientific Assistant 'B' (Biostatistics) (Level 6, Rs. 35,400/month)

  • B.Sc with minimum 50% marks in Statistics / Mathematics with Statistics as an ancillary subject
  • Experience: 2 years collecting and analysing medical data in a hospital or research institute

Scientific Assistant 'B' (Nuclear Medicine) (Level 6, Rs. 35,400/month)

  • B.Sc (Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Nuclear Medicine or equivalent) with PGDFIT/DMRIT and RSO Level-II (Nuclear Medicine), OR B.Sc Nuclear Medicine Technology with the required RSO Level-II, OR equivalent qualifications approved by RPAD/AERB

Scientific Assistant 'B' (CRI Facilities) (Level 6, Rs. 35,400/month)

  • B.Sc/B.Tech with PG degree/diploma in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Physics / Biophysics / Analytical Instrumentation / Medical Lab Technology (minimum 50% marks)
  • Experience: At least 1 year hands-on experience on analytical equipment like CD spectrometer, fluorescence readers and chromatography systems

Technician 'A' (CRI Labs) (Level 2, Rs. 19,900/month)

  • H.S.C (12th) in Science from a recognised institute
  • Experience: At least 1 year in lab glassware handling, autoclave operation, media preparation and lab upkeep

Age Limit

  • Maximum age (as on 19 June 2026): Medical Physicist 'E' — 45 years; Scientific Officer 'D' — 40 years; Scientific Officer 'C' — 35 years; Scientific Assistant 'B' — 30 years; Technician 'A' — 27 years
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST get 5 years, OBC get 3 years, PwD get 10 years (extra 5 for SC/ST and 3 for OBC), and Ex-servicemen get relaxation as per Government rules.
  • TMC employees and those working on temporary/project/contract basis get up to 5 years relaxation.
  • If a post is only for the unreserved category, age relaxation does not apply.

Salary

  • Medical Physicist 'E' (Level 12): Rs. 78,800 per month (entry pay) plus allowances
  • Scientific Officer 'D' (Level 11): Rs. 67,700 per month (entry pay) plus allowances
  • Scientific Officer 'C' (Level 10): Rs. 56,100 per month (entry pay) plus allowances
  • Scientific Assistant 'B' (Level 6): Rs. 35,400 per month (entry pay) plus allowances
  • Technician 'A' (Level 2): Rs. 19,900 per month (entry pay) plus allowances
  • You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per TMC rules, along with medical facility and retirement benefits.

  • SC / ST / Female candidates / Persons with Disabilities / Ex-servicemen (1st time for a civil post): No fee

Selection Process

The mode of selection depends on the post:

  1. Interview only — for Medical Physicist 'E', Scientific Officer 'D' (Biostatistics) and Scientific Officer 'D' (Clinical Pharmacology).
  2. Written Exam + Interview — for Scientific Officer 'C', Scientific Assistant 'B' (Biostatistics, Nuclear Medicine and CRI Facilities). The written exam is 100 marks of MCQs based on your area of specialisation.
  3. Written Exam + Skill Test — for Technician 'A'. The written exam is 100 marks of MCQs and the skill test is qualifying in nature only.
  4. Document Verification — shortlisted candidates must bring original documents with one set of photocopies.

The competent authority may change the mode of selection based on the number of candidates who apply.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out scientific and laboratory work in your assigned cancer research department
  • Run and maintain advanced equipment such as treatment planning systems and analytical instruments
  • Analyse medical, biological and statistical data using software like SPSS, SAS and R
  • Support clinical research projects and prepare reports on findings
  • Keep accurate records and follow lab safety and quality guidelines
  • Assist senior scientists and clinicians during studies and experiments
  • Handle routine lab upkeep, media preparation and waste disposal where required

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

H.S.C (12th) in Science for Technician 'A'; B.Sc/B.Tech for Scientific Assistants; M.Sc/Ph.D for Scientific Officers and Medical Physicist (varies by post)

Preferred Qualification

M.Sc in Statistics/Biostatistics; experience in a cancer centre or hospital

Required Skills

Statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R), analytical instrumentation, treatment planning systems, lab techniques, computer programming (C++, MATLAB, Python desirable)
