GMDC is hiring 14 Apprentices across seven trades at its Lignite Project in Mata Na Madh, Kutch, Gujarat. Depending on the trade you choose, you need a Diploma, Degree, ITI, or 12th pass qualification, and you can apply offline. The last date to apply is 25 August 2026. You should be between 18 and 25 years old, and you will get a stipend as per the Apprentices Act.

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC) Limited, a Government of Gujarat enterprise, has released a notification (Reference No. NAMANI/627/457/2026-27) inviting applications for 14 Apprentice posts under its Apprenticeship Scheme for 2026-27. The posts cover seven trades — Mining Engineer, Office Executive, Data Entry Operator, Computer Operator, Mechanical Engineer, and Lab Technician — at the GMDC Lignite Project in Mata Na Madh, Taluka Lakhpat, District Kutch. This one-year apprenticeship gives you hands-on experience in a leading public sector mining company. Freshers with the required qualification and no prior apprenticeship experience in the last 3 years are encouraged to apply.

Each trade under this apprenticeship has 2 vacancies, spread across engineering, technical, and office roles:

Who Can Apply?

• Mining Engineer: B.E. or Diploma in Mining Engineering.
• Office Executive: B.A. or B.Com.
• Data Entry Operator: 12th standard pass along with a qualification in a computer examination.
• Computer Operator: I.T.I. certificate in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant (COPA).
• Mechanical Engineer: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Lab Technician: B.Sc. with Chemistry as a subject.

Pick the trade that matches your highest qualification — engineering graduates and diploma holders can apply for the Mining Engineer or Mechanical Engineer trades, commerce/arts graduates for Office Executive, and 12th pass/ITI candidates for Data Entry Operator or Computer Operator roles. If you have already completed an apprenticeship within the last 3 years, you are generally not eligible to apply again.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 25 years old as on 1 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Reserved category candidates get relaxation as per government rules.

Selection Process

GMDC will select apprentices through:

1. Application Scrutiny: Your application and documents are checked against the trade-wise eligibility criteria.
2. Interview (if required): Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interview.

If you have completed an apprenticeship within the last 3 years, your application will be rejected. Once selected, you must register on the online apprentice portal — if you fail to do so for any reason, your candidature will be automatically cancelled, so keep an eye on your email and phone after applying.

How to Apply

2. Prepare a detailed biodata with your mobile number and email address.
3. Attach self-attested copies of your educational certificates and mark sheets, Aadhar Card, and two recent passport-size photographs.
