About This Job

Utkal University faculty online deadline is extended to 29 Jun 2026. Hard-copy receipt through Speed Post is extended to 10 Jul 2026.

Deadline Extension

Utkal University corrigendum dated 18 June 2026 extends the online submission deadline for Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor advertisements from 20 June 2026 to 29 June 2026.

The last date for receipt of hard copy through Speed Post is extended from 29 June 2026 to 10 July 2026. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Responsibilities

  • Teach UG, PG and M.Phil / Ph.D. level courses in the concerned discipline as per the approved curriculum
  • Guide Ph.D. and M.Phil scholars and supervise doctoral research
  • Carry out original research and publish papers in peer-reviewed / UGC-listed journals
  • Apply for funded research projects, consultancy assignments and patents
  • Design innovative curricula, MOOCs and e-content for online and blended learning
  • Participate in University statutory bodies, academic committees and administrative responsibilities
  • Mentor junior faculty and build national / international academic collaborations
  • Contribute to outreach, extension activities and the vision of Vikashit Odisha and Vikashit Bharat

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Ph.D. in concerned/allied/relevant discipline + Master's degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD) + 8 years teaching/research experience equivalent to Assistant Professor

Selected Associate Professors get a salary in 7th CPC Pay Level-13A (entry pay Rs. 1,31,400 per month, going up to Rs. 2,17,100) plus DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Government of Odisha rules.

You need a Ph.D. in the concerned / allied / relevant discipline + a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD) + a minimum of 8 years of teaching / research experience as Assistant Professor with 7 research publications and a research score of 75 as per UGC 2018 regulations. Candidates above 60 years are not eligible.

Apply online on the HIMS portal at hims.odisha.gov.in from 19 May 2026, upload all documents, pay the fee online, and submit by 20 June 2026. Then send the printed application by Speed Post / Registered Post only to The Registrar, Utkal University, Vani Vihar, Bhubaneswar - 751004 so that it reaches by 29 June 2026.

The fee is Rs. 2,000 for General and SEBC candidates and Rs. 1,000 for SC / ST / PWD / Women candidates. Payment is online only and non-refundable. If you apply for more than one post, you must pay the fee for each post separately.
