National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) Bhubaneswar is engaging a Special Work-Based Consultant through its School of Biological Sciences and Research & Development Section at Jatni, Odisha. The position belongs to the ICAR-CTCRI-funded project Rainbow Diet Campaign for Odisha: Development and Scaling of Customised Rainbow Diet Food Matrices for Combating Malnutrition among Children in Keonjhar District. This is a short project assignment linked to nutrition research, combining biological-science knowledge with laboratory-animal exposure, behavioural data work and basic computer use. It suits a life-science postgraduate who wants focused experience on an applied campaign addressing child malnutrition.

The project connects laboratory-based development with an Odisha-focused public-health goal. Prior animal handling and behavioural data collection are useful because the team needs someone who can support controlled research work while keeping information organised. This places the consultant between careful bench work and the practical reporting needed to move an applied research project forward. Communication in English and Hindi also matters for coordination around the project.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The engagement lasts for up to six months or until the project ends, whichever happens first. It is strictly tied to the project and carries no promise of continuation.
• No institutional claim: The consultancy does not create a right to absorption against another NISER post. It also does not lead to a Ph.D. degree at NISER.
• Temporary engagement: This is project work rather than a regular institute appointment. You should consider the short duration before making a commitment.
• Joining costs: NISER will not pay TA or DA for joining the position, so any travel or relocation expense remains your responsibility.
• Interview format: The interaction will be held online through Google Meet. Keep a stable internet connection, a working camera and the email account used in your application ready for meeting details.
