ICAR-CIRCOT Senior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (ICAR-CIRCOT) is engaging a Senior Research Fellow for a Ministry of Power-funded study at its Mumbai institute. The project examines how agro-biomass can be converted into torrefied pellets with suitable volatile matter for power-plant use. It brings together renewable energy, agricultural processing, mechanical design and chemical analysis, so the work suits someone comfortable moving between machinery, samples and research data. The engagement is contractual and tied entirely to the project rather than to a regular ICAR post.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The appointment is initially linked to the time-bound project and can continue for up to two years or until the project closes, whichever happens first. It does not create a claim to absorption or re-employment in ICAR-CIRCOT or ICAR.
• Work base and travel: Your regular work base will be ICAR-CIRCOT at Matunga, Mumbai, but project or office assignments may take you elsewhere in India.
• Early exit: If you leave before the contract ends, you must give one month's notice or pay one month's fellowship in place of notice.
• Joining: The institute expects the selected researcher to join immediately or as early as possible because the project is time-bound.
• Interview costs: ICAR-CIRCOT will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview or joining the post.
• Funding approval: Any later change in the fellowship during the engagement depends on approval from the funding agency.
• Final decision: The Director, ICAR-CIRCOT has the final say on selection, and canvassing can disqualify an application.
