The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) has released Notification No. 01/G/RB/2026, dated 2 June 2026, for 222 Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) posts in the Transport, Roads and Buildings Department. These vacancies are spread across Multi Zone I (112 posts) and Multi Zone II (110 posts), covering different districts of Telangana. There is no interview — your selection depends purely on your marks in the written examination, which makes this a transparent and merit-based opportunity for civil engineering graduates who want a permanent government job. The Transport, Roads and Buildings Department is responsible for building and maintaining state highways, bridges and government buildings across Telangana, so this role gives you a chance to work on large-scale infrastructure projects from day one. Out of the 222 vacancies, 69 posts are unreserved (Open Category) while the rest are distributed among EWS, BC, SC, ST, Sports and PwBD candidates as per the reservation roster.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) from a university set up by a Central or State Act, an institution recognized by UGC/AICTE, or you can be an Associate Member of the Institution of Engineers (A.M.I.E.).
• Distance Education: If you completed your degree through an Open University or Distance Education mode, it must be recognized by UGC/AICTE/Distance Education Bureau, or it will not be accepted.
• Equivalent Qualification: If your degree is different from the one prescribed but you believe it is equivalent, an Expert Committee constituted by the Commission will examine your case, and its decision will be final.
• Citizenship: You must be a citizen of India.
• Reservation: 95% of posts are reserved for local candidates under the Multi-Zone system, with additional reservations for SC, ST, BC, EWS, PwBD candidates and sportspersons as per Telangana State rules.
• Willingness to Serve: You should be willing to serve anywhere in Telangana State.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 44 years old as on 1 July 2026 (the upper limit was recently raised from 34 to 44 years).
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST/BC/EWS candidates get 5 years relaxation. PwBD candidates get 10 years. Telangana Government employees get up to 5 years based on regular service length. Ex-servicemen get 3 years plus their armed forces service period. NCC instructors get 3 years plus NCC service.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 54,220 to Rs. 1,33,630 per month in the pay scale applicable to the post.
• You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Telangana Government rules.

Application Fee

• OC / BC: Rs. 1,000 (application processing fee)
• SC / ST / PwD: Rs. 500 (application processing fee)
• Examination fee: Rs. 120 for all applicants — unemployed candidates are exempted from the examination fee, but employed candidates (Central/State Government, PSU, Corporation) must pay it.
• Payment mode: Online only, through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Written Examination (Objective Type): Conducted in OMR-based offline mode or Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) mode at one of five centres — Hyderabad (including HMDA), Karimnagar, Khammam, Warangal or Nizamabad. There are two papers: Paper-I (General Studies and General Abilities, 150 questions, 150 marks) and Paper-II (Civil Engineering Degree Level, 150 questions, 300 marks), for a combined total of 450 marks in 300 minutes.
2. Document Verification: The Commission verifies your original certificates for qualification, age, category and any other claims you made in your application.
3. Medical Examination: You must be found medically fit, of sound health, and free from any bodily defect or infirmity before your appointment is confirmed.

You need at least 40% marks (OC/Sports/EWS), 35% (BC), or 30% (SC/ST/PwBD) to qualify. Final selection is based on your merit rank against the available vacancies. If the exam is held in multiple sessions, your score is normalized on a percentile basis. After the exam, the Commission publishes the answer key online, and you can raise objections (Rs. 500 per question, refunded if your objection is upheld) within the given window. Once results are declared, you can also download the image of your OMR sheet from the TGPSC website for future reference.

1. Complete your One Time Registration (OTR) at tgpsc.gov.in if you have not already registered.
2. Log in with your TGPSC ID and click on the Online Application Link for this notification (01/G/RB/2026).
3. Verify your OTR details — name, date of birth, qualification, community and category — and select your examination centre.
4. Preview your application for correctness and click SAVE & PAYMENT to proceed.
5. Pay the fee online through Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card or UPI.
6. Download and keep the PDF application form generated after payment for future reference.
