RVNL Senior Deputy General Manager Recruitment 2026: Overview

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) is seeking experienced railway officers for the role of Senior Deputy General Manager in Signal and Telecommunication. The officers will join RVNL through deputation and support infrastructure work from its units in Chandigarh, Bhopal, Hubli and Kolkata. This is a senior project-facing assignment, suited to officers who already understand railway signalling systems and the coordination needed across public infrastructure organisations. The notice gives preference to people who have handled planning, execution or management work in major infrastructure projects.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Deputation tenure: The proposed term is five years. It remains subject to government approval exempting RVNL from the rule of immediate absorption, so the final tenure will follow the approval and deputation terms communicated at appointment.
• Parent service: The role is placed in the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers and S&T stream. You should check that your substantive grade and service history fit one of the alternatives in the notice before asking your controlling office to forward the form.
• Station choice: The prescribed proforma asks you to state a preferred station. A preference is not the same as a guaranteed posting; RVNL will make the final placement decision for its Chandigarh, Bhopal, Hubli and Kolkata units.
• Cut-off: Your age and service eligibility are assessed on the closing date. Use your substantive grade, not a temporary or officiating arrangement, when matching your profile to the eligibility routes.
• Project background: Experience with CPSEs, PSUs, NCRTC, metro rail corporations or central and state government organisations receives preference when it includes planning, execution or management of infrastructure projects.
• Record review: Your parent office remains part of the process because RVNL asks the controlling authority to transmit service-record material. Start the internal forwarding process early, since the authority gets only a limited period after the main closing date to send its part.
