Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) is hiring 1 Assistant Professor (Contract) in Agronomy at the Agricultural Research Station (ARS), Mannuthy. If you have a B.Sc from a recognized faculty plus a Master's degree in Agronomy with NET (a Ph.D also works if you don't have NET), you can walk in for an interview. The Agricultural Research Station, Mannuthy, under Kerala Agricultural University, has announced a walk-in interview to fill 1 Assistant Professor post in Agronomy on a contract basis. This is a provisional appointment for one year, or until a regular candidate joins, whichever is earlier — it does not confer any right to permanency or regularization at KAU. If you have completed your Master's in Agronomy with NET, or hold a Ph.D in the subject, this is a good chance to gain teaching and research experience at a government agricultural university.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.Sc from a faculty recognized by KAU, and a Master's degree in Agronomy (minimum 55% marks) recognized by Kerala Agricultural University, along with NET qualification.
• Alternate Qualification: If no NET-qualified candidate is available, applicants with a Ph.D in Agronomy recognized by KAU will also be considered.
• Desirable: Teaching experience in Agronomy is an added advantage, though not mandatory.

Age Limit

• You should not be above 50 years of age as on 1 May 2026.
• Age Relaxation: As per existing Government of Kerala rules for eligible categories.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 44,100 per month.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.
• If selected, you will need to sign an agreement on a Rs. 200 stamp paper before joining.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

KAU will select candidates directly through a walk-in interview — there is no written test:

1. Walk-in Interview: Bring self-attested copies of certificates for age, qualification, caste and experience. Original certificates must be produced for verification on the spot.

The University reserves the right to terminate the appointment early if your performance is found unsatisfactory.
