Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is hiring a Project Technical Support-III professional for the ICMR-funded India-EMS study in its Department of Emergency Medicine and Trauma. The project is developing a patient-centred, integrated model for emergency-care systems in selected Indian districts, and this role supports the field evidence needed to shape that model. This is a project appointment rather than a route to a regular JIPMER post.

Your work will connect qualitative public-health research with emergency-care delivery on the ground. The study uses in-depth interviews and focused group discussions, so the role suits someone who can listen carefully, organise sensitive information and turn conversations into useful findings. You should also be comfortable moving between the institute and urban and rural health facilities in Puducherry district.

The position sits with an active clinical department but focuses on implementation research. That means you will work alongside the principal investigator, health-facility teams and research participants while keeping the study method consistent. A medical background plus public-health training is central to the role, and experience with qualitative or mixed-method research will help you settle in quickly.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The initial contract is for six months and may be extended up to one year when performance is satisfactory and external project support continues.
• Regular appointment: The engagement does not create any claim to a regular JIPMER position.
• Mobility: Regular travel within Puducherry district is part of the field assignment; you must have a two-wheeler and a valid driving licence.
• Language: You need good speaking, reading and writing ability in Tamil and English for interviews, transcription and field coordination.
• Shortlisting: JIPMER may use stricter screening criteria when it receives many applications, and only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
• Attendance costs: No TA or DA is available for attending the assessment.
