ISRO is hiring 244 Assistants, Junior Personal Assistants (JPA), Upper Division Clerks (UDC) and Stenographers across its centres in India. If you have a graduation degree with at least 60% marks (or equivalent CGPA), you can apply online before 16 August 2026. ISRO, through its Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB), has released Advertisement No. ISRO:ICRB:01(A-JPA):2026 dated 27 July 2026 for 244 vacancies of Assistant, Junior Personal Assistant, Upper Division Clerk and Stenographer at ISRO Centres and DOS Autonomous Bodies including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hassan, Hyderabad, Mahendragiri, New Delhi, Sriharikota and Thiruvananthapuram. This is one of ISRO's largest administrative recruitment drives in recent years, spread across 6 distinct post categories with reservation for UR, OBC, SC, ST, EWS and PwBD candidates, including several backlog vacancies. Who Can Apply?
For Assistant / Upper Division Clerk (Post No. 1, 3 & 5):
- Qualification: Graduation with a minimum of 60% marks or CGPA of 6.32 on a 10-point scale from any recognized university, completed within the stipulated course duration.
- Skill: You must also be proficient in the use of computers.
For Junior Personal Assistant / Stenographer (Post No. 2, 4 & 6):
- Qualification: Graduation with minimum 60% marks / CGPA 6.32, OR a Diploma in Commercial/Secretarial Practice with the same minimum marks from a recognized Board/University.
- Experience: At least one year of experience as a Steno-Typist/Stenographer (a BOAT Apprenticeship Training Certificate is accepted as equivalent for DCP/DCCP diploma holders).
- Skill: A minimum speed of 60 words per minute in English Stenography, plus proficiency in the use of computers.
Age Limit
- You should be 28 years old as on 16 August 2026 (31 years for OBC and 33 years for SC/ST candidates, wherever posts are reserved).
- UR/EWS candidates should be born on or after 17 August 1998; OBC candidates on or after 17 August 1995; SC/ST candidates on or after 17 August 1993.
- Age Relaxation: Available for serving Government employees, Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Disabilities, meritorious sportspersons, and widowed, divorced, or judicially separated women (who have not remarried) as per Government of India orders.
Salary
- Selected candidates will get a minimum basic pay of Rs. 25,500 per month in Level 4 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (which extends up to Rs. 81,100).
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Transport Allowance as per extant Central Government rules.
- You will be covered under the New Pension Scheme, along with medical facilities, subsidised canteen, limited quarters facility (in lieu of HRA), Leave Travel Concession, Group Insurance and House Building Advance.
Application Fee
- The actual application fee is Rs. 100 for all posts, but every candidate must initially pay a uniform processing fee of Rs. 500 per application.
- If you apply for both a Post No. 1/3/5 category post AND a Post No. 2/4/6 category post, you pay Rs. 1,000 total (Rs. 500 for each category).
- Women, SC/ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempt from the Rs. 100 application fee — they get a full refund of the Rs. 500 processing fee after appearing in the written test/CBT.
- All other candidates get the Rs. 500 processing fee refunded minus the Rs. 100 application fee, again only if they appear for the written test/CBT.
- Payment mode: Only online, through the Bharatkosh e-Payment gateway (Internet Banking, UPI, or domestic Debit Cards).
Selection Process
The selection will be done in the following stages:
- Written Test: A single objective-type paper of 150 minutes, held at 38 centres across India. Qualifying marks are 50% for UR candidates and 40% for reserved category candidates against notified reserved vacancies.
- Skill Test: Based on your written test performance, you will be shortlisted for the Skill Test in a 1:5 ratio to the category-wise vacancies. Assistant/UDC candidates take a Computer Literacy Test; JPA/Stenographer candidates take a Computer Literacy Test plus a Stenography Test.
- Document Verification: You must produce all original documents supporting your application details at the time of the Skill Test, along with an NOC if you are already employed under Central/State Government, PSU, or an Autonomous Body.
Your final selection is based on your written test marks among candidates who qualify the Skill Test. In case of a tie, preference goes first to marks scored in General Intelligence & Reasoning (or English Language & Comprehension for JPA/Steno posts), and then to the older candidate by date of birth.

Skill Test
Assistant/UDC candidates take a Computer Literacy Test covering MS Word (35 marks), MS Excel (35 marks) and MS PowerPoint (30 marks) in 75 minutes, with a passing mark of 60% for UR and 50% for reserved categories.
JPA/Stenographer candidates take the same Computer Literacy Test plus a Stenography Test, where you must keep mistakes under 10% (UR) or 12% (reserved categories) to pass.
Qualifying Marks (Written Test): 50% for UR, 40% for reserved categories.
