IITM Senior Project Consultant TLC2 Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) is engaging a Senior Project Consultant for TLC2, its Centre of Excellence on Technologies for Low-Carbon and Lean Construction in the Department of Civil Engineering. The consultant will give strategic direction while also managing the centre's everyday work, linking sponsored research with the construction industry and public-sector partners. This is a centre-leadership role, not a conventional site-engineering assignment, and it calls for an experienced professional comfortable with independent decisions and full operational accountability. Dr. Ravindra Gettu is the project coordinator.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The initial engagement is for six months and may be extended after performance review. Completing the contract does not give you a right to extension, regularisation or permanent employment at IITM.
• Centre accountability: You will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day functioning of TLC2, including alignment with the centre's vision and the commitments of its sponsored or funded projects.
• Professional fit: The notice expects deep knowledge of civil engineering and construction-industry practice, technology and stakeholder networks. Experience with profit-and-loss responsibility or centre-level administration is particularly relevant.
• Experience counting: IITM will count relevant experience gained after the minimum qualifying degree. The institute may relax minimum requirements for an exceptionally strong candidate.
• Shortlisting: IITM may restrict the applicant pool using qualification, experience relevance and seniority, and achievements above the minimum. Meeting the baseline conditions does not automatically secure an interview call.
• Assessment discretion: The institute will choose the screening or testing method, may reject applications and may leave the position unfilled. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
• Current IITM project staff: If you already work on an IIT Madras project, apply through the proper channel or provide a No-Objection Certificate when called.
• Record checks: Eligibility remains provisional until IITM verifies your claims and records. Incorrect information or invalid records can lead to cancellation or termination.
