Posts and Disciplines

• Duty Medical Officer: This role leads clinical assessment and immediate treatment in the campus hospital. It suits an MBBS doctor who is registered with the Medical Council and is comfortable covering emergency and out-of-hours duty.
• Staff Nurse: This role provides ward and bedside nursing support. Experience in casualty, medical wards, surgical wards or the ICU is especially useful because the campus service must handle both routine care and urgent cases.

Post-wise Duties

Duty Medical Officer

You will assess patients, decide the first line of treatment and coordinate referrals when a case needs care beyond the campus facility. The roster can include day and night duty, weekend shifts and public-holiday coverage, so you need to be available when the hospital schedules you.

Staff Nurse

You will support doctors, monitor patients, administer prescribed care and keep nursing records accurate. The role follows an eight-hour shift system across six working days, with weekend or holiday duty when the hospital needs coverage.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The initial engagement runs for 11 months. IIT Hyderabad may extend it when your performance is satisfactory and the institute still needs the service.
• Ending the contract: Either side may end the engagement with one month's notice. The appointment does not create a claim to a permanent IIT Hyderabad post.
• Emergency availability: If campus housing is not provided, you must live close enough to reach the campus within 10-15 minutes during an emergency.
• Campus housing: Contract staff have no automatic right to accommodation. The institute may consider it case by case, depending on how essential the service is and whether housing is available.
• Health cover: You must arrange a valid health-insurance policy at your own cost for the engagement period and provide a copy when you join.
• Selection visit: IIT Hyderabad will not pay TA or DA for attending a test, skill assessment or interview.
• Legal jurisdiction: Any dispute connected with this recruitment falls under the High Court of Telangana.
