IIT Madras has released Advertisement No. ICSR/PR/Advt.148/2026, dated 11 August 2026, for 1 Junior Executive post in the Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering, under the Centre for Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR). This is a purely contractual position, initially for one year and extendable based on performance — completing the contract period does not entitle you to regularization or permanency at the Institute. Fresh graduates with 0-1 years of experience in accounting or procurement can apply — no prior work history is mandatory. The role is coordinated by Prof. Raghavendra Sai V V of the Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), or equivalent
• Experience: 0 to 1 years of relevant experience — only experience gained after your qualifying degree is counted
• Key Skills: Practical knowledge of Tally ERP or general ERP software, plus basic Microsoft Excel. Experience with e-procurement and inventory management systems is a plus
• Soft Skills: Good verbal communication, strong numerical accuracy, and organization skills

Age Limit

• You should be up to 30 years old as on the last date of application, 25 August 2026.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get a salary of Rs. 16,000 to Rs. 20,000 per month, depending on your skill level and experience.

Selection Process

The Institute may shortlist candidates for the following stages, based on your qualifications and experience:

1. Written Test / Skill Test: The Institute reserves the right to conduct a written or skill test if a large number of applications are received, giving preference to candidates with higher qualifications or more relevant experience.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a test/interview.
3. Document Verification: You'll need to submit a printout of your application along with original documents at the time of the test/interview.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the next stage — the Institute will not respond to queries about the test/interview outcome.

• Experience requirements may be relaxed for SC/ST candidates at the Institute's discretion, and for exceptionally outstanding candidates.

• Process day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records
