The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) has released Advertisement No. SPON/10018/Advt0247 for one Research Associate I post. This is a project position under Prof. Uttama Lahiri in the Electrical Engineering department. You will work on building a wearable device that monitors how people walk (gait). This is a temporary, project-based job and a strong opportunity for engineers interested in healthcare technology.

What You Will Do

As a Research Associate, you will help build and test a wearable gait monitoring system. Your work will include:

• Developing the hardware and firmware for wearable devices.
• Collecting and processing signals from the device.
• Writing algorithms in Python and MATLAB.
• Connecting the system with microcontroller-based platforms.
• Testing and validating the system in the lab and in real-world conditions.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply if you meet any one of these:

• A PhD in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering (or an equivalent degree), OR
• 3 years of research, teaching, and design/development experience after ME/MTech, with at least one research paper in an SCI journal.

Other requirements:

• You should have experience with wearable devices, signal processing, and programming in Python, MATLAB, and microcontrollers.
• You need a minimum of 60% marks at the Bachelor's level.
• Candidates who qualified CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or similar national-level tests are eligible to apply.

Preferred: work experience in developing healthcare devices.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 58,000 per month.
• You will also get HRA at 30% of the pay if you do not take institute accommodation.
