Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Young Professional-II Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post
The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), under the Department of Health Research, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has issued a vacancy notification for one Young Professional-II post at its Informatics & Data Centre in New Delhi. This is a purely temporary position for six months, extendable based on performance and project requirements. Who Can Apply?

- Desirable Skills: ICMR will give preference to candidates with the following, though these are not compulsory:
- Strong scientific writing skills for preparing manuscripts and study reports
- Prior experience in systematic review and meta-analysis
- Advanced statistics modelling using software like R or STATA
- Experience analysing large-scale survey data such as NFHS, NSSO, IHDS, and Census
- Experience building data files from multiple data sources
- At least 1-2 publications as first or corresponding author in an SCI-indexed journal
- Candidates already working against regular or permanent government posts are not eligible to apply.
- All educational qualifications and certificates must be from a recognised board or university, and your experience is counted only from the date you completed your minimum essential qualification.
Age Limit
- The age limit for this post is 40 years, considered as on the last date of application/walk-in interview.
- Age Relaxation: As per applicable ICMR/DoPT guidelines for reserved categories.
Salary
- You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 42,000 per month.
- This is a fully consolidated amount — no PF, Leave Travel Concession, or Medical Claim benefits are provided since the post is purely temporary.
Selection Process (Walk-in Interview)
ICMR will select the candidate through a walk-in interview conducted in a single day:
- Registration: Report and register for the interview by 9:30 AM on 2 September 2026 with your filled application form, bio-data/CV, and self-attested supporting documents.
- Written Test (conditional): If more than 30 candidates register, ICMR may conduct a short written test to shortlist candidates for the interview.
- Walk-in Interview: The interview starts at 11 AM on 2 September 2026.
- Document Verification: You must bring all original certificates for verification at the time of the interview — candidates who fail to produce originals cannot join if selected.
Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, personal discussion, or written test. ICMR reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies as per requirement, and can accept, reject, or withdraw the advertisement at any time without assigning any reason.

Responsibilities
- Handle large-scale datasets and perform data cleaning, validation, and transformation
- Conduct descriptive, inferential, and predictive statistical analyses for research and policy needs
- Design and run data processing workflows, statistical tools, and automated scripts
- Build dashboards, data visualisations, and technical reports to support policy decisions
- Work with research and policy teams to provide statistical insights for publications and evaluations
- Prepare data documentation, including data dictionaries and metadata
- Contribute to presentations and summaries for stakeholder meetings and reviews
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Post-graduate degree in Biostatistics/Statistics/Demography/Population Studies/Public Health/Medical Sociology with at least 55% marks
Preferred Qualification
Experience in systematic review and meta-analysis, statistical software (R, STATA), large-scale survey data analysis (NFHS, NSSO, IHDS, Census), and SCI-indexed publications
Required Skills
Scientific writing, statistical modelling, data analysis, R/STATA
