CMO Prayagraj Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Prayagraj is hiring MBBS Medical Officers on contract for district programmes run under the National Health Mission, Uttar Pradesh. This is a combined drive for hospital, urban primary-care, telemedicine, non-communicable-disease and emergency roles, so you can choose the programme that best matches your clinical background. The same notice and application form cover every role in this recruitment.

The work is based in Prayagraj district health facilities, with appointments made by the District Health Society. The notice gives preference to doctors with relevant experience, while the essential academic and registration requirements remain common across the programme posts. You should read the role names carefully and state your programme preferences clearly in the prescribed form.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Child Health Medical Officer, SNCU: clinical care for newborns and children in the Special Newborn Care Unit.
  • CP-Telemedicine Medical Officer: remote consultation support and clinical coordination through the telemedicine programme.
  • NUHM Medical Officer, XV Finance: general medical services supported through the urban health programme's finance stream.
  • NUHM Medical Officer, PM-ABHIM: outpatient and public-health work linked to urban health-system strengthening.
  • NUHM Medical Officer, Urban PHC: first-contact clinical care at urban primary health centres.
  • NP-NCD General Physician: diagnosis, follow-up and referral work at a CHC non-communicable-disease clinic.
  • DHS Programme Emergency Medical Officer: assessment and treatment of urgent cases under the district programme.
  • DHS Programme EMO, Ex-UPHSSP: emergency clinical services in the district programme's designated unit.

Post-wise Duties

Child Health and Emergency Services

You will examine patients, stabilise urgent cases, plan treatment and coordinate referrals with district hospitals and specialist units. In child-health work, you will also monitor high-risk newborns and explain care plans to families.

Telemedicine and Urban Primary Care

You will deliver timely medical consultations, keep clinical records and guide patients who need in-person or higher-level care. Urban-health roles also involve coordination with nursing, pharmacy and outreach teams serving the local catchment.

NCD Clinical Services

You will assess chronic conditions, review investigations and maintain continuity of care through follow-up and referral. The role calls for clear counselling so patients understand treatment, risk factors and when to return.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: the appointment is contractual up to the programme period stated in the notice; extension depends on government directions and programme need.
  • No regularisation: this engagement does not create a claim to a permanent government post.
  • Seat and pay revision: the District Health Society may change the programme-wise requirement or contractual pay when fresh directions are received.
  • Attendance costs: no travel allowance is payable for appearing in the selection process.
  • Early termination: incorrect information can lead to the contract ending after notice or payment as described in the notice.
  • Jurisdiction: disputes connected with the recruitment fall within Prayagraj district.
