This is a retainer post open only to retired senior executives from government, CPSEs, or the tea industry with a graduate degree and 22+ years of experience in tea plantation management. Andrew Yule & Company Limited, a Government of India Enterprise that runs fifteen tea gardens along with its Engineering and Electrical divisions, has released Recruitment Advertisement No. 2026/11/01 for 2 Expert (Tea Plantation) positions in its Tea Division. This is a purely advisory, contractual engagement — the selected experts will guide AYCL's tea gardens in West Bengal and Assam on agronomy, sustainability and productivity but will hold no financial or administrative powers. Only retired senior professionals with a long track record in tea plantation management should apply — this is not an entry-level or regular government job.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Graduate in Plantation Management, Engineering, Agriculture, Bio-Science, Science, Arts or Commerce. A Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Human Resource Management, Personnel Management or Agricultural Science is preferred.

For Government / CPSE Candidates:

• You must be retired from Central Government, State Government, a Central or State Public Sector Enterprise, or another government organisation.
• You should have held a post equivalent to Executive Director (E-7) / Level-13 or above.
• You need at least 22 years of post-qualification experience in tea plantation management.

For Private Sector / Tea Research Candidates:

• You should be retired from a reputed tea company, the Tea Research Association (TRA), UPASI Tea Research Foundation, Indian Tea Association (ITA), Tea Board, or a similar organisation.
• You need at least 22 years of post-qualification experience in tea plantation management, including 10 years in a senior leadership role such as General Manager, Vice President, Director, CEO, Chief Advisor, Principal Scientist or Chief Scientist.

You should have hands-on expertise in tea agronomy — nursery management, planting, pruning, plucking, pest and disease control, soil and water conservation — along with knowledge of sustainability standards and climate-resilient plantation practices.

Age Limit

• The maximum age to apply is 70 years as on the date of advertisement.
• In exceptional cases where a candidate has rare expertise and is found medically fit, engagement may be considered up to 75 years.

Salary

• Selected experts will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 4,930 per diem, for a maximum of 15 days a month, plus company transport.
• TA/DA will be paid while on official tour, as applicable to serving employees of an equivalent grade.
• No PF contribution, HRA, or medical benefits are admissible. Income Tax/TDS will be deducted as per applicable rules.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in these stages:

1. Interview: Selection is based on interview or any other method decided by Management. You must bring original documents for verification at the interview. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
2. Vigilance Clearance: AYCL will seek vigilance clearance from your parent organisation (or the AYCL Vigilance department, if you retired from AYCL).
3. Medical Examination: You must be medically fit and undergo a medical check from a Company, Government, or Government Undertaking Medical Officer before engagement.
