UoA Postdoctoral Fellow ECE Recruitment 2026: Overview

The University of Allahabad (UoA) in Prayagraj is offering a Postdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) in its Department of Electronics and Communication under the Visvesvaraya Ph.D. Scheme for Electronics and IT, Phase-II. The scheme is run by Digital India Corporation (DIC) under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and this seat is for the 2026-27 session under Implementation Order No. PhD-02/PDF-2026/97.

Your research must sit in one of two areas: Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) or Information Technology / IT Enabled Services (IT/ITES). Applicants with active industry links whose proposals target industry-specific problems get preference — so a recent Ph.D. holder with peer-reviewed papers and a practical research plan stands the best chance.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Full-time and temporary: The fellowship is a full-time, non-transferable position that can be held only in India.
• No extension: Support ends after one year; the scheme does not allow any extension.
• One-time award: If you have already received this fellowship under the scheme, you cannot get it again.
• Current jobs: People in regular employment are not considered. If you hold a temporary academic or research post, you can apply but must give it up if selected.
• Home university bar: Ph.D. holders from the University of Allahabad itself cannot apply.
• Research proposal: Your proposal must spell out clear objectives, outcomes and deliverables; it is sent with the application.
• Extra grants: On top of the monthly fellowship, the scheme pays a contingency grant released pro-rata each quarter and travel support as per norms.
• Selection venue: The screening test is held offline at the UoA campus only, and the interview may follow on the same or the next day. No TA/DA is paid.
• Reservation: Reservation follows Government of India norms; SC/ST/OBC/EWS certificates must not be older than six months.

Superscribe the envelope "Application for PDF position under Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme, for Electronics and IT, Phase-II, DIC, MietY at University of Allahabad" — the hard copy must be received by the last date, not just posted.

Pay the fee online to the Punjab National Bank, Colonelganj, Allahabad account named JK Institute PROF FEE AC (Account No. 1001000100222313, IFSC PUNB0100100) and attach the receipt.
