Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) Supervisor (Stores) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), Malpe, Karnataka, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL). It operates under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India. This is a permanent position in the supervisory grade at the stores department, and you will be placed in the Grade TS1 pay scale starting at Rs 28,000 per month. If you have experience in ship building, ship repair, marine engineering, or logistics, this could be a great fit for you.

Who Can Apply?

Option A: Diploma Holders

• Qualification: Three-Year Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education
• Experience: At least 7 years of post-qualification experience in ship building, ship repair, engineering/logistics company, offshore platform, marine engineering, or government/semi-government establishments
• Out of those 7 years, at least 2 years must be in a supervisory grade at stores

Option B: ITI Certificate Holders

• Qualification: ITI (NTC) in Welder, Sheet Metal Worker, Electrician, Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, or Plumber from a State Board of Technical Education
• Experience: At least 15 years of post-qualification experience in ship building, ship repair, engineering/logistics company, offshore platform, marine engineering, or government/semi-government establishments
• Out of those 15 years, at least 3 years must be in a supervisory grade at stores

Desirable Skills

• Proficiency in inventory management, stock auditing, and material handling
• Knowledge of warehouse safety practices
• Experience with ERP systems and computerized inventory control

Note: Only qualifications from AICTE/recognized universities or boards are accepted. Higher qualifications like B.Tech or M.Sc alone will not make you eligible.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years as on 20 April 2026 (you should be born on or after 21 April 1981)
• PwBD and Ex-Servicemen: Age relaxation as per Government of India guidelines, subject to a maximum age of 50 years

Salary

• Grade: TS1
• Pay Scale: Rs 28,000 - 3% - Rs 1,10,000
• Basic Pay: Rs 28,000 per month (entry level)
• DA (53.4%): Rs 14,952
• HRA (10%): Rs 2,800
• Perks and Allowances (35%): Rs 9,800
• Total Monthly Pay: approximately Rs 55,552

Selection Process

Selection will be done in 2 phases with a total of 100 marks:

1. Phase I - Written Test (80 Marks): This phase has two parts.
   • Objective Type Test (40 Marks): 40 questions in 45 minutes. Covers General Knowledge (5), General English (5), Reasoning (5), Quantitative Aptitude (5), and Discipline-related (20). Each question carries 1 mark. No negative marking.
   • Descriptive Type Test (40 Marks): Discipline-related questions in 90 minutes.
2. Certificate Verification: Candidates who score minimum pass marks and meet eligibility requirements are called for document verification at a 1:6 ratio.
3. Phase II - PowerPoint Presentation (20 Marks): You will present your work experience using a PowerPoint presentation (maximum 10 minutes) at UCSL Malpe or another location decided by UCSL.
4. Medical Examination: Short-listed candidates will undergo a medical exam at hospitals prescribed by UCSL.

Minimum pass marks: UR candidates need 50% in each test. PwBD candidates need 40% in each test.

• Manage stores inventory and maintain accurate stock records for shipyard materials
