NTH Young Professional Recruitment 2026: Overview

National Test House (NTH), the century-old testing and quality-evaluation body under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, is hiring Senior and Junior Young Professionals on contract under Advertisement No. NTH(HQ)/YP/ADVT./01/2026-27. The posts are spread across NTH's regional laboratories in Ghaziabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Aurangabad, Jaipur, Guwahati, Bengaluru and Varanasi. Senior posts need about three years of hands-on experience, while junior posts are open to candidates with one year in a testing lab or a related field — so both early-career engineers and experienced lab professionals have a route in.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Young Professional (Technical-RPPT): rubber, paper, plastics, footwear and textile testing at NTH Ghaziabad.
• Senior Young Professional (Management): administration, finance and project-support roles at NTH HQ Kolkata, the DG Camp Office in Ghaziabad and the Kolkata, Mumbai, Ghaziabad, Chennai, Guwahati and Aurangabad labs.
• Senior Young Professional (Technical-Microbiology): microbiology testing at NTH Mumbai.
• Senior Young Professional (Technical-Food Analyst): a post added by corrigendum for food testing at NTH Jaipur; you must be a qualified Food Analyst under FSSAI.
• Senior Young Professional (Technical-Electrical and Technical-Civil): electrical testing at Mumbai and Jaipur, and building-materials testing at Chennai.
• Junior Young Professional (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Microbiology, RPPT): lab testing roles spread over Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Aurangabad, Ghaziabad, Guwahati, Bengaluru, Jaipur and Varanasi.
• Junior Young Professional (Technical-IT): network, software and LIMS support at Kolkata, Mumbai and Guwahati.
• Junior Young Professional (Technical-Aerospace): mechanical testing and material characterisation of aerospace alloys at NTH Bengaluru.
• Junior Young Professional (Technical-Drone): drone certification support at Ghaziabad under the Certification Scheme for Unmanned Aircraft Systems run by QCI.

Post-wise Duties

Technical posts (lab disciplines)

You will help NTH scientists test and evaluate product samples against national and international standards, and keep the lab equipment running and upgraded. The senior RPPT post also covers buying lab equipment and setting up a new test facility.

Management

You will support policy work, project monitoring and purchase and finance tasks, coordinate with stakeholders, handle customer relations and business promotion, and help with the lab's social media and marketing.

Technical-IT

You will run the regional office LAN and look after software, data analytics and MIS issues, including the lab's LIMS.

Technical-Drone

You will assist the Scheme Manager and evaluators in certifying drones, which means knowing what manufacturers and certification bodies must comply with.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of job: Purely contractual. Either side can end it with one month's notice, and NTH can end it without notice for a breach of contract terms.
• Tenure: One year at first, extendable up to four years if your performance in the previous year is satisfactory.
• Vacancies can change: The number of posts may go up or down depending on NTH's work needs.
• Relaxations: The selection committee may relax the essential qualification, and the upper age limit, for exceptionally qualified candidates.
• No TA/DA: You get no travel allowance for attending selection, joining, or leaving at the end of the contract.
• Interview call: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

• Corrigendum-01 dated 15 September 2026: the Jaipur post under Senior Young Professional (Technical-Microbiology) became a new Senior Young Professional (Technical-Food Analyst) post, and the age rule now allows relaxation for exceptionally qualified candidates.
