Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL) Supervisor Recruitment 2026 - 15 Posts

Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), Malpe, Karnataka, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has released notification Ref No. UCSL/IMS/HR/VN/F/11-SUP/MEF/67 for 15 Supervisor posts. The recruitment covers three disciplines: Mechanical (11 posts), Electrical (3 posts), and Finance (1 post). These are contract positions for 5 years with posting at UCSL Kochi/Malpe or other UCSL project sites. Experienced Diploma holders, ITI-qualified candidates, and Commerce graduates with relevant work experience should apply before the deadline.

Who Can Apply?

Supervisor (Mechanical)

• Option A: Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education + 7 years post-qualification experience (last 2 years in supervisory role) in Ship Building, Ship Repair, Engineering companies, Offshore platforms, or Government establishments.
• Option B: ITI (NTC) in Welding, Sheet Metal Worker, Bench Fitter, Fitter, or Plumber trade + 15 years post-qualification experience (last 3 years in supervisory role) in similar fields.
• Desirable: Post-diploma in NDT. Proficiency in scaffolding, rigging, welding techniques, and knowledge of marine hull and mechanical systems.

Supervisor (Electrical)

• Option A: Three-year Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from a State Board of Technical Education + 7 years post-qualification experience (last 2 years in supervisory role).
• Option B: ITI (NTC) in Electrical or Electronic trade + 15 years post-qualification experience (last 3 years in supervisory role).
• Desirable: Experience in Electrical QC, Production, or automation/control function.

Supervisor (Finance)

• Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Management (BBM), or Business Administration (BBA) with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university.
• Experience: Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience in Finance and Accounts.
• Desirable: Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, and SAP.

Note: Experience is counted from the date of passing the qualifying exam. Experience from companies registered under Companies Act 1956 or equivalent foreign companies is considered. Experience period reckoned as of 22 April 2026.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years as on 22 April 2026 (you should be born on or after 23 April 1981).
• OBC: 3 years relaxation (for posts reserved for OBC).
• SC: 5 years relaxation (for posts reserved for SC).
• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India guidelines.
• Maximum age after all relaxations: 50 years.

Salary

• 1st year: Rs. 40,650 per month
• 2nd year: Rs. 41,490 per month
• 3rd year: Rs. 42,355 per month
• 4th year: Rs. 43,246 per month
• 5th year: Rs. 44,164 per month

This is a consolidated pay on contract basis. No separate DA, HRA, or other allowances are mentioned. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the selection process.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in 2 phases with a total of 100 marks:

1. Phase I - Written Test (80 marks):
   • Part A - Objective Type Test (40 marks, 45 minutes): 40 MCQs covering General Knowledge (5), General English (5), Reasoning (5), Quantitative Aptitude (5), and Discipline Related (20). Each question carries 1 mark. No negative marking.
   • Part B - Descriptive Type Test (40 marks, 90 minutes): Discipline-related questions. Only candidates who clear the objective test minimum pass mark will have their descriptive papers evaluated.
2. Phase II - PowerPoint Presentation (20 marks): You need to present your work experience in a PowerPoint presentation (max 10 minutes) at UCSL Malpe/Kochi or through electronic media.

Minimum pass marks: UR/EWS: 50%, OBC: 45% (reserved posts only), SC: 40% (reserved posts only). Final merit is based on total marks in Phase I + Phase II.

3. Complete One-Time Registration in the SAP Online portal.
4. Fill in the online application form for the post you are applying for.
5. Upload all required certificates (age, qualification, experience, caste, photo) in the SAP portal.
6. Pay the application fee online (Rs. 300 for General/OBC/EWS; free for SC/ST/PwBD).
7. Submit the application and save a printout with your unique registration number.
