Udupi Cochin Shipyard Limited (UCSL), a fully owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has released vacancy notification UCSL/IMS/HR/VN/F/11 dated 24 June 2026 for 4 executive posts on permanent rolls. This single notification covers Assistant General Manager (Contract & Procurement), Assistant General Manager (Design), Manager (Hull) and Deputy Manager (Marine). Who Can Apply?

Assistant General Manager (Contract & Procurement) — E5

• Degree in Mechanical / Production / Electrical / Electronics / Civil / Marine Engineering with at least 60% marks
• Minimum 15 years managerial experience in sub-contracting, vendor development, purchasing, operations or managing government tenders in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore fabrication or marine engineering

Assistant General Manager (Design) — E5

• Degree in Mechanical / Naval Architecture / Production Engineering with at least 60% marks
• Minimum 15 years managerial experience in hull structure design, machinery outfit design or hull outfit design of ships

Manager (Hull) — E3

• Degree in Mechanical / Naval Architecture / Production Engineering (with 9 years experience), OR a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical/Marine/Shipbuilding Engineering (with 12 years experience)
• Experience in Hull, Outfitting, Heavy Fabrication and Erection functions

Deputy Manager (Marine) — E2

• Degree in Mechanical / Marine Engineering, OR graduation from DMET with minimum 3rd Engineer certificate of competency
• Minimum 5 years sailing experience, including at least 2 years as third engineer onboard oceangoing ships

Age Limit

• Assistant General Manager: up to 50 years (born on or after 17 July 1976)
• Manager: up to 40 years (born on or after 17 July 1986)
• Deputy Manager: up to 35 years (born on or after 17 July 1991)
• Age is reckoned as on 16 July 2026
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC against reserved posts. Ex-servicemen get 10 years for Manager/Deputy Manager and 5 years for AGM, capped at 45 years (Deputy Manager), 50 years (Manager) and 55 years (AGM)

Salary

• Assistant General Manager (E5): Basic pay Rs. 80,000, total monthly pay around Rs. 1,59,280 (pay scale Rs. 80,000-3%-2,20,000)
• Manager (E3): Basic pay Rs. 60,000, total monthly pay around Rs. 1,19,460 (pay scale Rs. 60,000-3%-1,80,000)
• Deputy Manager (E2): Basic pay Rs. 50,000, total monthly pay around Rs. 99,550 (pay scale Rs. 50,000-3%-1,60,000)
• The total includes Basic Pay, DA (54.1%), HRA (10%) and Perks & Allowances (35%). You also get Provident Fund, Accident Insurance, Medical reimbursement and NPS benefits.

Selection Process

The selection is held at UCSL Malpe (or through electronic media) and is based on a total of 100 marks:

1. Work Experience in the relevant job/area: 40 marks
2. PowerPoint Presentation on work experience: 30 marks (presentation of up to 10 minutes)
3. Group Discussion: 10 marks
4. Personal Interview: 20 marks

Shortlisted candidates first do a PowerPoint Presentation, then move to Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Selected candidates must also pass a medical examination. There is no written exam for these posts.
