Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), has released notification for 4 Graduate Operational Trainee (CR&D) posts against Advertisement No. UCIL-10-2026. UCIL operates six underground mines and two process plants in Jharkhand and one underground mine and process plant in Andhra Pradesh, playing a vital role in India's nuclear power cycle. This is a regular (permanent) post — trainees are absorbed as Scientific Assistant-A in Tradesman-E grade after 2 years of training. B.Sc. Chemistry graduates with 60% marks and age up to 30 years can apply.

Stipend and Salary

  • Year 1 (Training): Rs. 29,990 per month plus prevailing DA
  • Year 2 (Training): Rs. 30,890 per month plus prevailing DA
  • After Absorption (Permanent): Scientific Assistant-A in Tradesman-E grade, pay scale Rs. 29,990 – 3% – 46,720
  • During training you also get company-subsidised residential accommodation (subject to availability) and medical facility (for self only)
  • After absorption into regular posts: Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, Common Allowance, PF, Gratuity, subsidised accommodation, medical facilities, children's education facility and other benefits as per company rules
  • Note: You will need to sign a bond to serve UCIL for 4 years after completing the 2-year training.

Selection Process

Your selection will be based on the response to the advertisement:

  1. Written Test: Depending on the number of applicants, UCIL may conduct a written test covering relevant Chemistry and general subjects.
  2. Trade Test: A practical/trade test may be conducted as applicable for CR&D (Chemical Recovery and Processing) duties.
  3. Personal Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview.
  4. Document Verification: Original certificates for age, educational qualifications, category (OBC/EWS/PwBD) and other documents will be verified at the time of Written Test/Trade Test/Personal Interview.

Responsibilities

  • Handle chemical recovery and processing operations in uranium ore treatment plants
  • Monitor plant parameters, reagent consumption and process efficiency on a daily basis
  • Maintain accurate records of process data, test results and production reports
  • Assist senior scientists in conducting experiments, process trials and quality checks
  • Follow all safety, radiation protection and environmental norms applicable to nuclear facilities
  • Prepare shift reports and flag any deviations or abnormalities to supervisors
  • Coordinate with other departments for smooth plant operations and shutdown maintenance

Exam Pattern

The selection process for Graduate Operational Trainee (CR&D) consists of up to 3 stages, depending on the number of applicants received:
