ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (ICAR-CRRI), Cuttack has released Advertisement No. 01/SRF/YP-II/YP-I/FW/2026-27 for 5 temporary project-based posts under the Network Project on Precision Agriculture (NePPA). All posts are co-terminus with the project and have no right of absorption into ICAR/CRRI. Who Can Apply?

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• Master's degree in Remote Sensing and GIS / Geoinformatics / any Agriculture discipline / Computer Science with 4 or 5 years Bachelor's degree
• OR M.Tech. in Computer Application / IT / Computer Science / CS&E / Software Engineering / ECE / Information Technology from a recognised university with 4 or 5 years Bachelor's degree
• OR Post-graduate degree in Environmental Science / Geography (3-year Bachelor's + 2-year Master's) with NET qualification and 2 years of research experience
• OR B.Sc. (Agriculture) 4-year graduation followed by M.Sc. in any discipline
• OR Ph.D. in any discipline of science
• Desirable: Knowledge of satellite image processing, GIS, coding/ICT tools (Oracle, .Net, MATLAB, Python, Java or equivalent)

Young Professional-II (YP-II)

• Master's degree in any Agriculture discipline / Remote Sensing and GIS / Geoinformatics / Environmental Science
• OR M.Tech. in Computer Application / IT / Computer Science / CS&E / Software Engineering / ECE / Information Technology from a recognised university
• Desirable: Ph.D. in any science discipline; knowledge of satellite image processing, GIS, coding (Oracle, .Net, MATLAB, Python, Java)

Young Professional-I (YP-I)

• Bachelor of Science in Agriculture / Botany / Zoology
• Desirable: Experience working in a research institute for field experiments; knowledge of IT applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tally etc.)

Field Worker

• Matric (10th) with +2 Vocational in an agriculture-related subject
• OR Matric (10th) with 2 years of working experience in an agriculture-related field

Age Limit

• Senior Research Fellow: Maximum 35 years for men and 40 years for women (as on date of interview)
• Young Professional-II: Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years (as on date of interview)
• Young Professional-I: Minimum 21 years and maximum 45 years (as on date of interview)
• Field Worker: Minimum 18 years and maximum 50 years (as on date of interview)
• Age Relaxation: SC, ST, and OBC candidates get relaxation as per Government of India norms

Salary

• Senior Research Fellow: Rs. 37,000 per month + HRA as per rules
• Young Professional-II: Rs. 42,000 per month (consolidated)
• Young Professional-I: Rs. 30,000 per month (consolidated)
• Field Worker: Rs. 18,797 per month (consolidated)
• Note: All posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the NePPA project. There is no right of absorption into ICAR/CRRI.

Application Fee

• No application fee — this is a walk-in interview. You simply attend on the scheduled date with your documents.
• No TA or DA is payable for appearing in the interview.

Selection Process

Selection is through walk-in written-cum-personal interview:

1. Certificate Verification: Bring original certificates (matriculation onwards), Xerox copies, experience certificate, passport photo, and the duly filled biodata form downloaded from the ICAR-CRRI website.
2. Screening Test (if required): If there are a large number of candidates, a written screening test may be conducted to shortlist for interview.
3. Personal Interview: Final selection based on interview performance.

If you are currently employed, bring a No-Objection Certificate from your present employer. Make sure you arrive before the scheduled interview time — late arrivals will not be allowed.

3. Collect all original certificates from matriculation onwards, along with self-attested Xerox copies.
4. Arrange your experience certificate (if applicable) and one recent passport-size photograph.
5. Appear in person at ICAR-CRRI, Cuttack, Odisha on the scheduled interview date and time for your post.
6. Deposit the filled biodata form along with copies of certificates at the time of certificate verification.

• Handle experimental data collection from field and laboratory as assigned by the Principal Investigator
• Prepare data analysis using GIS, remote sensing software, and statistical tools
• Assist in writing project reports, presentations, and publications
• Work on designing and conducting field experiments under the NePPA precision agriculture project
• Maintain records of soil and plant attribute data collected during experiments
• Monitor implementation of ICT tools and computer-based analysis as required by the project
• Follow team schedules and coordinate with project staff on day-to-day activities
