ICAR Finance Young Professional Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is hiring Young Professional-I and Young Professional-II for its Finance & Accounts team at ICAR Headquarters in New Delhi. These are short-term contractual roles in the Finance Division, suited to commerce professionals who can work with accounts, office records and digital finance tools. The two grades serve different levels of finance work, so you should choose the grade that matches your professional training and experience.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Young Professional-I (Finance & Accounts): supports routine accounting, statement preparation, data checking and day-to-day finance-office work.
  • Young Professional-II (Finance & Accounts): handles more advanced scrutiny and reporting work for candidates with intermediate professional accountancy training or postgraduate finance study.

Post-wise Duties

Young Professional-I (Finance & Accounts)

You will help the Finance Division maintain accurate books, vouchers and supporting records. Your work may also involve spreadsheets, reconciliations, routine statements and coordination with sections that send bills or financial data.

Young Professional-II (Finance & Accounts)

You will support higher-level review of accounts and financial information, including scrutiny of records, preparation of reports and follow-up on discrepancies. The role calls for confident use of office software, virtual-meeting tools and accounting applications such as Tally.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Contract tenure: The initial engagement is for one year and may be extended annually, subject to performance, up to a maximum of three years.
  • Nature of appointment: This engagement does not create a claim to a regular ICAR post.
  • Attendance: Working hours follow those of regular employees, and eight continuous days of unauthorised absence can end the engagement automatically.
  • Leave: The contract provides limited casual and restricted leave; eligible women professionals can receive maternity leave under the stated terms.
  • Joining checks: Selected professionals must sign secrecy and non-disclosure declarations, complete police verification after joining and provide a medical fitness certificate at their own cost.
  • Housing: No HRA is payable, although official domestic travel is covered within the grade-specific limits stated by ICAR.

Application Submission Notes

Email the scanned application form, bio-data, photograph and self-attested certificates to cdnaicarhq@gmail.com. Use the prescribed Annexure-I and clearly identify whether you are applying for YP-I or YP-II (Finance & Accounts).

If you are already employed, keep your No Objection Certificate ready with the supporting experience records. ICAR will screen the applications first and contact only shortlisted candidates for the next assessment.

  • Prepare account statements, summaries and routine reports
